Great black and white film. Overclocks well to 1600

I use this in an old film camera for night shots. I click 1600 and get great results. Yes, there's some graininess, but that's part of the effect. Nothing bad. Good contrast film even without a yellow filter.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Waiting too long

The Kodak standard by which all others are measured

I'm not saying other films are bad, it's just that Kodak is the standard by which they're measured. I confuse the physical labor of developing film with making prints. This is different and better than computer generated images in my opinion. somehow the graininess is more present than the pixelated images.

or do it yourself like you did every day as part of .

Tri-X lasts forever until it goes away. get some rolls for your camera. and then make a day out of it. Then be sure to send the film to the developer. or do it yourself like you did every other day as part of your job. Using an old 5o camera will feel strange as it doesn't have any of the features you are used to. What was missing from the box were the exposure aids. You may need this if your camera doesn't have a light meter.

  • Absolute Legend
Cons

Best Overall

I know there are people who shoot Ilford and won't move away from the filter because it has less grain. which is true. But older photographers like me love that grainy look. I've tried Ilford and always go back to 400 TX. In my opinion, this is easily the best black and white film ever made. It also has a lot of freedom in exhibition. For example, you can increase it to 100 or push it up to 3200 and still get good results. Expensive, that's the only downside. I sincerely recommend this product.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • For old

Great film with a romance/vintage feel to it.

Bought a small Canon Rebel-G. A 35mm film camera from a local antique shop in Marietta and I shot in AUTO mode with my 1.8F 50mm lens (*not Canon Luxury) and the results are amazing. I mainly make films for fun/hobbies, not for money, so I don't mind if the film quality isn't the highest on the market. This film is affordable, suitable for beginners and developing well. I think it looks good and is a great way for beginner photographers to get some shooting experience. It's very interesting to…
