Ideal for aging RC parts.

I used this to age some RC car parts. That works great. If you can paint something with a brush, you can use this product. The rust effect appeared after about 1 1/2 hours. So don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away. The product can be dirty, but any color can be dirty. It leaves a really rough rust texture.

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Do not use on plastic

I have used this product on plastic to add character to my models. It took 4 coats of iron paint to get it dark enough like in the video. Then I waited about 2 hours for it to dry and sprayed it with rust spray and a total of about a quarter of the model rusted. I don't know if this should work better with other materials, but it didn't work with plastic.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Stinks but works. for paint and primer

The product looks fantastic just never touch it as it is real rust which will get on your hands and will make your hands smell like rust if you ever touch it again. This was a hurdle for me as I was drawing chess pieces that were always being touched. I tried just sealing them to keep them from smelling but that won the rust. So a good idea in a concept with very limited utility.

Pros
  • Decent performance

I was not satisfied with this batch

I have used this product many times. I needed several projects so I ordered a small kit. I believe this product should have an expiry date as it has not lived up to my expectations as it has in the past. The rust was permanent and didn't look random. I could do it with hammer paint. Not impressed with this set. I will buy it from a local dealer who sells large kits.

Pros
  • . This is amazing
Cons
  • Quality

Good product for paints, wall care products and consumables

Depending on the goal, the result can be a whole new game. I think it's pretty cool how rustic it looks. I bought this and the rust patina seems to work a little better. Used it in a layered project that included wood, metal, chipboard, glass and cardboard. They all came out the same, so there's a lot of versatility in the type of media you can use them on. It's definitely a little pricey, but I'm very happy with how my project turned out. I would use this company again, the product arrived…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some little things

Maybe I got a bad batch?

Followed directions closely on two small projects. The primer laid down smooth and smooth on both coats. The iron paint was runny and runny and more like a wash. I shook the bottle before applying to make sure it was mixed well. I had to apply to get full coverage. Two coats and let dry completely. Lightly spray the activator, wait 5 minutes, 2nd lightly spray on the model. It dried out, but it was really random where it rusted. It was very blotchy and highlighted in rust spots, although I was…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Minor repairability
