turn around. Suitable for van parts and accessories

Either Ford reversed the connector installed on my truck or the tester was not manufactured correctly. To see the reading you need a mirror. But it doesn't work comfortably.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Useless functions

Doesn't work in RV Parts & Accessories

I bought this to test the new 7 pin wiring on my 2001 F250. He said my turn signals and brake lights weren't working. Just to be sure, I bought a $4 tester at a cargo port and it actually showed I was getting power. It didn't work for my application.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

Allows wiring to be checked before trailer is hooked up

A handy wire tester that attaches to the wire harness connector at the rear of the truck. Verifies that the wiring is working properly. So if the trailer has a lighting problem, it really is at the end of the trailer.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • When in doubt

Does not test brake control

Does not test brake control. A short circuit has occurred in the wiring of the brake controller. I bought this to test. First, when the light didn't come on, yes, I'm short. I dug through all the wiring and found. Loose brake pedal cable connection. I checked and the LED does not light up. I connected my camper, everything works fine. Just don't check the brake control.

Pros
  • High support and durability ratings from testers
Cons
  • No performance

Upside down on Ford vehicles

The LED display on the F-150 is upside down, making it difficult to read. I hope this helps diagnose a recurring problem with Ford's towing package, which first "sees" a trailer attached, but then intermittently displays an erroneous "Trailer Disabled" message while driving. About the edit: After further research, I found that loosening the large Phillips head screw allows the LED display to be rotated 180 degrees, making it suitable for Ford vehicles.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Fits

Poor quality electronics

I bought this tester to save time and quickly test my 7 pin trailer connectors on my rigs. two LEDs do not work. The left signal is very weak, the blinking light is almost on, the right signal is dead. I carefully removed the LED head to reveal the circuit board. There is continuity between the pins and the solder joints, so the problem is either with the PCB wiring to the LEDs or with the LEDs themselves. Since everything is formed, let's just call it dead. I'm giving one star for the glowing…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Indicator lights are on the inside

Indicator lights are on the underside of the tester. It's not very easy to read. :( All vehicle mounted 7 pin trailer light sockets are fitted with a spring loaded cover at the top with a small clip to keep the trailer plug from falling out. So the only way to connect this tester is as they say, lying on your back to read the indicator lights is just plain wrong. It should be done in another country that doesn't use this type of system!I should have given that 2 stars (because it actually…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions

  • A few little things
