Amazing puller. extremely strong and durable. very versatile so you can use it as you need it. It is always recommended to lubricate the bolt to prevent seizure

Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good all round puller

Dear OTC products! This puller is no exception! Worked perfectly to remove my truck's rear diff fork. A dedicated puller would be better for this job, but useless for any other job. This puller is suitable for many jobs.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Upgrades available

if you must have a strong puller. this is the one to buy

I tried removing the jumper from the gearbox on the 7ft model. NO JOY with everything I've tried. It was no match for the OTC 522. After cleaning and applying a small amount of oil to the threads, just a few pulls with a 1/2 ratchet was enough.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great puller - tools and equipment

I bought this to pull flywheels on commercial twin cylinder lawn mowers. The H-shaped handlebar is sturdy and is 8 inches long, but the flywheels I needed are 9 inches with slots on the sides. So I drilled two 5/16 holes in the ends and used two #8 bolts so I could use swingarm pullers and it worked great. This is a great puller with a central conical socket so you don't damage the end of the screw rod.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some little things

Poor Quality Control

First off, this could be excellent value. It arrived damaged, however, as it failed to protect the propeller from impact against the fixed stern. This has been fixed but the tool is useless as the threaded hole in the solid back is poorly cut and will not accept the screw. So I've now ordered a 3/4-16 tap for $20 and will wait another 4 days and redo the strong back in the hopes of having the adequate tool I was originally counting on.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Poorly Thought Out

Heavy Duty Puller

For removing the blade holder from the 285 Bush Hog. Tried everything, not even the 12-ton hydraulic puller gave way. Built with a pair of 8 1/2" degree bolts, using a 1" air hammer (this thing has about 2500 pounds of torque), heat and a 10 pound hammer eventually broke it. I've bent the bolts, pulled the 1/2" nuts off the threads, but this puller hasn't broken and to my surprise, the puller bolt hasn't even bent. Best $50 I've ever spent.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • No Automatic

Heavy strong puller but with manufacturing defects

OTC tool comes in two separate parts. When the spindle was screwed into the lubricated block, the spindle threads tightened almost immediately. Cause: UNF 3/4 " The thread of the block was not cut cleanly during/after tool manufacture. This is a typical error in quality control. With the new UNF 3/4" tap, I rethreaded the thread. During this operation (rework) many metal chips were removed. Wonderful! Now my tool is optimally ready for use.! Caution: Always use grease on the spindle. That's…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Good Puller - Puller Sets

I've read some of the 1 star reviews and I honestly don't understand what they were complaining about. This tool cost me $60 and is MUCH better than the $10 you buy from China-Tools-R-Us. if you understand my point. The tool is square and the hole is straight, NONE of the $10 pullers have those characteristics. Yes the threads are a bit rough but all you have to do is put some oil on the threads and turn the puller bar all the way and it will smooth out. If you want perfection, buy Enerpac for…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
