Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

With its pros. 5-year manufacturer's warranty, high-speed operation when plugged in Got cons: In power saving mode, when the laptop is powered by battery, it runs slower than it could, but apparently this is not due to the disk, but due to the design of the laptop.

A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

It works for a month without complaints, it’s not cheap, but it fully justifies itself, I use it at home in Synology NAS, in conjunction with a good router, the feeling that the data is right in the computer

Pros
  • Really high read and write speed.
Cons
  • The high cost of 1 GB of data

10 year NAS SSD warranty.

Great price both for a server NAS drive and for everyday use. This is a better buy than Samsung drives right now. I have to buy a few more. I've found these discs to work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. On Linux, use gparted to install the formatting software: sudo apt install gpartedGreat drive. Buy a bunch.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Negative impression

Noise during data transfer.

While transferring a large 8GB file, I noticed that the drive is making a lot of noise. This is the type of noise found on a high gain computer component like a GPU, but coming from an SSD casts doubt on its durability. I was also unimpressed by the actual drive capacity of 3.6TB, not the advertised 4TB; although it's just marketing. On the Windows host, the average file transfer rate varied between 200 and 300 Mbit/s.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Security

In less than a year one out of 4 has already failed

Bought 4 drives in August 2020 for RAID10. Using the LSI RAID controller. Today, March 4, 2021, a drive failed with multiple CRC errors and the LSI controller was unable to repair or recover it. It's not a port because I replaced it with another drive and the port is working correctly. I'm losing confidence in WD. First they lied about SMR vs CMR drives, now they sell SSDs that can't even last a year. Also bought their EasyStore 240GB drive from BestBuy and it failed in less than a month. WD…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not the best

Improve the performance of your NAS

They are an easy replacement for my Seagate 4TB QNAP NAS drives. I ran 4 of these SSDs in my TVS-471 for 3 months and they are fast, reliable and quiet! I know they are more expensive compared to HDDs, but the extra speed and quiet operation are worth it. Using MKV to transfer movies to my NAS is much faster and Plex is less likely to re-encode to a lower resolution. 4K movies stream cleanly to my various Samsung and LG large screens. I also upgraded my QNAP from i5 to i7 and added two M.2 1TB…

At first, but so far so good.

I am using multiple WD Red SA500 4TB NAS drives in a ZFS pool with 6 mirrored virtual devices. The overall performance of the pool is excellent, although the average write speed per disk is only about 200 MB/s over two recycles. (I've never seen it surpass 380MB/s.) I'm not sure if that's the sustained write speed of this drive, or if there's a bottleneck (or deliberate throttling) elsewhere. As mentioned in the title, it's still early days - the bath has only been open for a couple of months…

Yes! It works with MyCloud EX2 and MyCloud EX2 Ultra!

I answer questions that have no answer because this question remains open in many forums. fully functional in MyCloud EX2 and MyCloud EX2 Ultra 2-bay NAS devices. I've tried JBOD, Spanning, RAID0, RAID1 and they all work as expected depending on the configuration chosen. For my final configuration, I personally use two WD RED 1TB SSD NAS in RAID0 for better performance and then use rotating USB disk backups for any failures/recoveries that may occur. I've also experimented with other brands of…

Six 2TB Drives ZFS and LSI Pool Issues HBA

Note that the Western Digital SA500 Red SSD is one of the very few non-enterprise SSDs that support DRAT and Support HZAT, which allows you to perform proper pruning LSI SAS HBA. Search Broadcom Knowledge Base for ID: 1211161496937 or "TRIM Support for LSI HBAs and RAID Controllers". Purchased six 2TB 2.5" drives and placed them in a ZFS RAIDZ2 pool in a Supermicro chassis supporting 36 SAS/SATA drives per LSI 9300. -8i SAS HBA controller. The system was running Devuan (Debian) with kernel 4.9.

  • Good Value
