SiHim is the best!

I've had a reef aquarium for about three years now and SeaChem products are all I ever eat. They dissolve easily and have a great price. They are also made right in Georgia so this is a great Made in USA product.

Works as advertised

I have been using this product for several years and it works as advertised. I would recommend this to others. However, I know from other hobbyists that there are other more popular products. I have never tried others.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Great price

Good product at Fish & Aquatic Pets

This is by far my favorite magnesium supplement and one of the cheapest to use. I personally don't like using anything in liquid form, I've found that it contains many other "harmful" things. I just mix it with fresh RODI water and make my own liquid form.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works great for me.

I add Reef Advantage Magnesium to my refill water. It dissolves easily and never forms a precipitate. After trying Reef Advantage I have never used a liquid concentrate since. My magnesium levels stay in a very narrow range around 1300ppm. I use many SeaChem products and trust this brand.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Reef Advantage Magnesium is easy to use

I dose Sechem Reef Advantage Magnesium in my aquarium. I got back the amount I needed to increase my magnesium a bit. For example, I increase the Magnum from 1200ppm to 1375ppm, my 120 gallon system takes almost a pound. Indeed, here is the entire contents of this jar. I think next time I'll order an even bigger can. You can find a handy Seachem product dosage calculator if you do a google search for JDieck Reef Chemistry Calculator FV.

Pros
  • nice stuff
Cons
  • disappears

Buyer Warning. on Fish & Aquatic Pets

It's just overpriced Epsom salt and regular table salt. I wouldn't use it for a massive magnesium boost, regular dosing should be fine. I had very low magnesium levels - around 200ppm - and used an entire 1.2kg bottle for two weeks. This increased my specific gravity from 1.025 to 1.027 on a 125 gallon tank. I had to replace the 10 gallons of water in the tank with pure reverse osmosis water to correct the salinity. Additionally, there are some articles discussing the possibility of sulfate…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
