Bought for a chocolate fondue dessert. It was wonderful. Everyone had a lot of fun and it worked out great. Yes we needed an extension cord but it didn't matter. In any case, a large table is required to get to the outlet on the wall. I highly recommend it. We had 8 people, we made about 2 cups of chocolate and we had plenty left over.
