Great for expanding my 2017 MacBook Pro

I just bought a 2017 MacBook Pro with only 128MB SSD it's not even close to enough for me so I've been searching online for the best way to save my storage space since enlarge Apple doesn't want you to upgrade your hardware. I've spent many hours looking for a solution that fits my device, so I found this: Sintech M.2 NVMe 2230/2242 - Tarjeta SSD for MacBook PRO A1708 models with missing haptics (final 2016-mid 2017) Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 lower potential DRAM internal SSDโ€ฆ

Cons

Same power on crash issue as other brands

When the MacBook's USB-C ports have power at startup, a blinking question mark appears over the folder. Disconnecting the USB-C cables restores the normal boot process. I had the same issue with another brand but was hoping to read the reviews. I gave this product one star for ease of installation and another because it works great with the 1TB Sabrent SSD. Booting is annoying when you forget to unplug your USB-C cables.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • No color required

SSD doesn't ONLY support NVME

this doesn't work with regular SSDs, it only works with NVME drives, which is a HUGE shame as there are virtually no NVME drives in this form factor that can be trusted

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • I'll write later

did not work on computer and accessories

This adapter did not work on MacBook Pro 13" A1708 2017 (without Touchbar), the new SSD (Sabrend Rocket NVMe 1TB) was not recognized. Unfortunately, we I tried to adjust things after delays in returning I do not recommend this product.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Weight

Could not sleep!

I was over the moon to finally be able to upgrade my 2017 256GB MBP drive to 2TB. I bought this adapter and a Sabrent rocket. Everything installed and worked great except the laptop didn't sleep properly. When I unplugged the laptop and turned it off, my battery went from 100% to 37% in under 24 hours with no use. Very disappointed, not sure I want to spend money on a used Apple branded drive. Now I really hate Apple.

Pros
  • Please check if your Macbook PRO is non-touch model A1708 before purchasing.
Cons
  • Expensive
