Waste of money Best in Safety

Yes, they were easy to install. Yes, they are not as unattractive as other larger alarm clocks. Yes, they are affordable. BUT, a few months after installation - the alarm goes off non-stop. In fact, I was called home from work by a concerned neighbor who heard this when the first one broke. I don't think it's a battery issue as the removed battery still has life and they make the typical "chirp" to alert you of a bad battery. This happened 2 out of 3. I will buy new alarms for the house.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Smoke detectors are good for fire safety

UPDATE REVIEW 07/16/20 MOVED 1 STAR: All 4 units have failed within 1 year and after testing the batteries I know this is not the case. the power supply that is causing the problem. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THESE DEVICES TO ANYONE. THE ORIGINAL RATING WAS 2 STARS: 2 out of 4 devices started chirping within 2 months of installation and it was not battery related. Something is wrong with the system, so I deleted them. The other 2 still work. I had to buy a new one to replace the broken one. I don't…

Lifespan NOT 10 years

So I bought these over a year ago after my house caught fire. They installed all the wired ones I hate. I bought them thinking the light would be brighter and they should last 10 years. Exactly a year later a detector goes off in my bedroom instead of chirping like a fire like it needs a new battery. there is no fire So I change the battery anyway and put it back in. It repeats itself two nights later. So I try another new battery, no. Departure the same night. Then another of the four I bought

Problems with two of the sixteen.

I have ordered 16 detectors to replace very old batteries in my house. Very easy to install, however 2 out of 16 were defective. Once installed, they "chirp". I replaced the factory battery with another new battery and the problem persisted. Defective detectors were installed in the bedroom and living room. We do not smoke and there was no burned food or smoke from other sources. Since people's lives can depend on them functioning properly, I would recommend anyone considering this product to…

Imagine you are

Imagine you and your spouse are fast asleep while your kids are far away in dreamland and your dogs are snoring to the dancing bunnies in their heads. Suddenly, a loud squeak woke the whole house. Children cry, dogs bark, you panic and try to find a fire. Wait. No fires. How can it be? Oh, because this product sucks. I bought 6 of these. And so far 5 of them have failed and worked for no reason. I thought the battery might be cheap. nope! goes out again No warning, just shuts off. Never during…

blink, drain, defective. annoying

I bought five of these in January 2019. The first annoyance is that they BLINK red every minute they are active. If they're in your line of sight from the bed, you'll probably want to cover the bulb somehow so it doesn't get in the way of its original purpose. The second annoyance is that the battery comes loose very quickly, likely due to a previous issue. Within a year everyone started tweeting about low batteries, not constantly at first so it was difficult to figure out what the problem…
