Good range of projects from simple to complex

There is a great variety of projects in this book. Some seem long while others are pretty quick and easy. I have never tried tatting and would not recommend this book to beginners who rely solely on printed instructions. I would advise anyone wanting to learn tatting to order a book with a DVD to demonstrate the exact movements of the shuttle. If I hadn't bought the DVD, I probably would have given up tattooing quickly.

Not Satisfied

I took Marilee Rockley's Craftsy class to learn how to make braided jewelry. She is a very helpful teacher and has a lot of experience, so I decided to buy her book. The design looks very heavy and wonky (is that a word?), in other words they look dated. Maybe it's because of the big beads she uses and all the bright colors, but it looks like cheap craft rather than the fine, delicate work that it is. I suppose some items could have been changed to look lighter but I wanted to be amazed and…

Interesting ideas, worth something

This would be a good book to learn how to make molds. I don't think I'll be wearing some of these pieces, but their shapes are interesting and educational. The inclusion of beads is also a useful touch. I took Marilee's Craftsy class and she taught me the folded join technique that I've been looking for in several books. The video showed this connection, but not very well. (I found that the photos in the videos often didn't show things very well. Either their hands were obscured or in shadow…
