Review Revain's underwriting guidelines. NOT for E90!

Don't trust the Revain Fit Calculator. Not suitable for e90 2006. This review is for Revain only. Fan most likely 5 stars! Delivery was very quick, same day it's summer in hot Arizona. Thank you Prime Minister. I ordered because of the installation recommendation before removing the old one. After the removal, you could see from the photos that I had one cell and these two. Now I have to go back and drive another day without air conditioning.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Some little things

Works great!: Heater

This motor was very well packaged (hung on a plastic frame), well balanced and worked great in my 2001 BMW 325i sedan. I first bought and installed one from O'Rielly and it buzzed horribly at high speed. This TYC variant was cheaper and better quality. A lot of people say you have to spend close to $300 to get an OEM version from Behr. I would say it is not necessary. There are installation videos on YouTube. It took me about 2 hours the first time, about an hour and a half the second time.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Ok but needed a bit of tweaking 2004 325i

Came in bulletproof packaging. The engine works great. The fan blades on my 2004 BMW 325i were too wide. I just plugged it in and while the fan was still open (but installed in the car and plugged in) I turned the fan on (it howled when it touched the other plastic) so while I let it run I just pressed open with sandpaper the side fan and let it slowly cut the plastic until the noise goes away. Now it works great and is mostly silent. A great cheap alternative to the BMW fan at full price.

  • Sturdy finish

Good fan; great price

The fan arrived quickly and was well packaged to ensure its integrity during transit. Installation can be tedious. After installation, I heard a "rubbing" sound when the fan was running. Upon investigation, I found that the fan was rubbing against the fan housing as it rotated. I removed the fan and found that the new fan was slightly wider (the width of both blades plus the motor) than the original fan, just enough to make contact with the case. I used a dremel to lightly sand the body; I…

Perfect, easy to install on 1999 328i

They always complain about these fan motors being difficult to install, but on my 1999 328i, pre-facelift, it was a miracle. Here's why: The 1998/99 E46 has M52TU engines (all others have M54). The two motors are almost identical however the shaft has been designed around the first making it very easy to swap out the fan motor in these models. I was able to remove the engine (through the gap on the left passenger side) without pulling, binding or touching any bodywork. Almost failed. After…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Requires socket

Works perfectly! No problems at all!

Installed a few days ago. So far it works very well. At maximum speed, this thing is a little louder than the original, but not by much. Anything below the max is as quiet as stick. Extremely easy to install. However, I will note that the cable and connector are about 3 inches shorter than the original. At first I thought this might be a problem, but they give you just enough length to hook it up. The stock wires ran behind and on the back of the motor, but this needs to be pulled in front…

Pros
  • High quality assembly
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Rugged packaging, complicated installation

This fan assembly comes in smart packaging. The plastic cage completely surrounded the device. It would confuse any angry package seller. BMW almost allowed access to the fan assembly. To get to the unit, you have to remove a lot, including imitation covers on top of the engine. Make sure you turn the wipers all the way up, then turn the key off. This will move the wiper arms out of the way. The electrical connector is difficult to reach and disconnect, but with needle-nosed pliers, good…
