This is my third pair of boys' boots from this manufacturer. I'm an older woman who loves the fit and functionality of these boots. I'm just saying you don't have to be a boy to buy and wear them. I get them in size 6.5 (I usually wear 7.5 or 8 for women's shoes) and they are wide enough for my not narrow feet. Perfect fit as I can wear thicker socks with it. Well, the boot is strong. The Heal has a cool ice pick that folds into itself/boot. It doesn't go through the sole, but metal (yes, it's a metal ice ax) won't hit the ground unless you seriously wear down the soles of the boot themselves.
