I used regular hair clipper attachments with plastic tabs to hold my clippers and had a terrible time at the hair salon. They stretched and fell off when cut etc. I finally bought this set (plus two extra guards 0.5" and 1.5") and I love them! They are stronger, the metal clips are very secure on the clippers and I can cut much faster. I don't have to worry about them falling off or trying to hold the guard on the clippers while cutting. Mine matches my Series 9 choice perfectly.

This is definitely a significant upgrade over the standard attachments that come with Wahl clippers. Before I got my Wahl Magic Cordless Hair Clipper I had andis clippers and the premium andis trims are stronger plastic and look more premium. But premium choice pads are good enough and definitely better than the junk pads that come with clippers.
