I should have done this many years ago. The back of the house is covered with large windows and faces south-west, which roasts us in summer. We went from air conditioning at noon to turning it on at 4:30-5pm. I have double glass sliding doors, each 3x8, I put a film on it and the difference was amazing, no hot sun, no bright yellow sun on the carpet. Don't think, understand, if your room is hot from the sun, this is the cheapest way to cool it down and you'll save a fortune on air conditioning.
