BTS is an open source financial platform and distributed exchange across a block chain. Distributed Exchange has all the advantages of increasing user privacy and lowering commissions. It is not difficult to say that they are the right way. But there are areas where BitShares can be improved. there are many advanced features that can confuse the crypto-currency for newcomers and beginners.

Pros
  • One of the key benefits of the BitShares transaction is that SmartCoin is used to eliminate the volatility of the crypto currency market. This is one of the main differences between BitShares and Bitcoin. BitShares does not target peer-to-peer calls. Instead, we seek a swap system with tokens that are linked to real assets.
Cons
  • Since BitShares is still in its infancy, few people have fully experienced the platform. Also, there are few reviews in depth to really help gauge the effectiveness of the system.

Overall, I think BTS is a very interesting project to follow because they facilitate a profitable business model for certain types of services. The creator of the asset is the name of the public, explains, and distributes the token.

Pros
  • BitShares provides features known as "user-issued assets" for their purpose to help facilitate profitable business models for certain types of services. Their technology is very sophisticated and special types of tokens are registered on the platform, which can be held by users and within certain limits.
Cons
  • they should not limit the number of tokens held by the user.

The BitShares Referral Program is designed to promote infrastructure development. Decentralized financial networks depend upon their business partners to build an ecosystem of businesses, such as exchanges, merchant services, hosted wallets, lightweight wallets, and block explorers. With the BitShares referral program, merchants can now earn more by advertising their support for the BitShares platform. While other platforms primarily promise lower fees, BitShares offers merchants an ongoing…

Pros
  • At just a few cents per trade*, BitShares is one of the cheapest exchanges around. Other exchanges charge a percentage of your transaction volume. For a $1000 trade on BitStamp you will pay $5 vs less than $0.01 (Jan 2015) to make the same trade on the BitShares exchange. The more traditional exchanges like E-Trade or Scottrade charge over $5 per trade. Taking these price comparisons into consideration, clearly it doesn’t get any cheaper than BitShares.
Cons
  • Limited liquidity.

Bitshares (BTS) was launched in July 2014 as one of the first distributed encrypted password exchanges. Dan Larimer, co-founder of Steemit and EOS and now CTO of EOS, has launched Bitshares (BTS). Larimer is trying to build Bitshares because he believes that the evidence of workforce depletion is flawed due to network concentration. To solve this problem, he proposed a new consensus algorithm called bitshares concept and delegated proof of participation (DPoS). Although this consensus algorithm

Pros
  • A striking feature of Bitshares is its scalability and transaction processing capabilities. Bitshares is based on an open source block chain implementation known as graphene, which acts as a consensus mechanism. Another project that uses graphene is Steemit, which claims to be capable of handling 100,000 transactions per second.
Cons
  • There project has little adoption rate in the Dex market.Dex like Etherdelta, forkdelta, idex, Switch eo beats it hand's down in daily volume.. Bitshares Dex sees just 7 million dollars daily transactions per day which is low compared to the rest

This is a zoo project and have the major development to be future. Project that may to provide multiple utilities in the cash transaction....

Pros
  • It was found it and the well development in the future future. same as a development team and support not supported.
Cons
  • Not unused mode to large in this project.

BitShares is mainly an open source and blockchain-based software that shields its users via cryptography with the aim of sustaining a ledger of transactions. This platform allows for a decentralized asset exchange that is very much alike to New York Stock Exchange, but this time, it is for cryptocurrencies and it is devoid of the need to put any trust in a central authority to oversee the handling of funds. This decentralized asset exchange improves trading by making use of computers that are…

Pros
  • Bitshares able to process 100,000 transactions per second (tps) and it can do even better with minimal optimization. In comparison, VISA handles 2,000 tps averagely with a maximum capacity of 24,000 tps.
Cons
  • BitShares’ value is still volatile and it will likely continue to be that way until the market finds and comes to terms with a fixed inherent value.

It is wise to note that BitShares handles more transaction volume than Ethereum and Bitcoin combined. BitShares is a decentralized exchange platform for trading cryptocurrencies without leaving the blockchain. The DEX of Bitshares to me is poorly shaped and lack the finnesse of major competitors, but still their volume helps keep all these negative things at bay.

Pros
  • On the Bitshares DEX you can trade autonomous derivatives that use free market dynamics combined with price feeds to track the value of their real-life counterparts. With BitShares, you can take short positions, issue bonds, get your options (BitUSD, BitGold, BitSilver, BitOil etc.) and do whatever you should be able to do on the true cryptocurrency market
Cons
  • When you are going to trade with commodities like gold, silver or even the fiat currency, you gotta give in exchange something with at least similar rate of value-fluctuaction, which cryptos are not.

When you hold BitUSD the value of your holdings will remain pegged to the dollar so long as BitShares itself has reasonable volatility. Reasonable volatility in this case means that it can handle greater volatility than Bitcoin has ever seen in its lifetime. The price of BitShares would have to fall to less than 1/3 its starting price in less than 24 hours and then stay there. No legitimate, widely adopted cryptocurrency has ever seen that kind of price movement. This means that BitUSD is…

Pros
  • Keep everything in memory. Keep the core business logic in a single thread. Keep cryptographic operations (hashes and signatures) out of the core business logic. Divide validation into state-dependent and state-independent checks. Use an object oriented data model. By following these simple rules, BitShares is able to process 100,000 transactions per second without any significant effort devoted to optimization. Future optimizations are expected to bring the performance of BitShares to levels similar to LMAX.
Cons
  • that the performance achieved by BitShares is highly dependent upon having a compatible transaction protocol. It would not be possible to achieve the same level of performance in a protocol where the Core Business Logic is run in a virtual machine that performs cryptographic operations and references all objects with hash identifiers.

To ensure the cost of customer acquisition is sustainable, the BitShares referral system is designed to always pay out a percentage of actual profits. BitShares allows the users to draw their own conclusions about the Life Time Value (LTV) of each customer they refer, after educating them about the LTV of customers for similar businesses. Bitshare believe that the BitShares network can offer each referrer an average value of $80 per member they sign up, or $40 if they go through an affiliate…

Pros
  • By always maintaining reserves, you can rest assured that BitShares is solvent in almost any market. All of the reserves are kept as BTS held on the blockchain, and they cannot be stolen, because there are no private keys that can be compromised to steal the reserves.
Cons
  • Most major altcoins not supported.

Roles of an Exchange The roles that traditional exchanges perform today…

Roles of an Exchange The roles that traditional exchanges perform today encompass: Receiving cryptocurrency and issuing IOUs. Receiving fiat and issuing IOUs. Processing an order book. Redeeming IOUs.

Pros
  • BitShares designs permissions around people, rather than around cryptography, making it easy to use. Every account can be controlled by any weighted combination of other accounts and private keys. This creates a hierarchical structure that reflects how permissions are organized in real life, and makes multi-user control over funds easier than ever. Multi-user control is the single biggest contributor to security, and, when used properly, it can virtually eliminate the risk of theft due to hacking.
Cons
  • Waves is way better funded, has more momentum and way better PR than BitShares. Their DEX even if it isn't as good, looks better. So people will naturally go there becasue user experience matters.

BitShares allows individuals and companies to issue their own tokens for anything they can imagine. Common use cases include: Deposit Receipts 1. Know Your Customer 2. Asset Seizing 3. Market Restriction 4. Transfer Restrictions Company Shares Event Tickets Rewards Points Individual or Corporate Debt Crowd Funding Digital Property Privatized SmartCoins (Stable Cryptocurrencies) Information/Prediction Markets How to Profit by Issuing an Asset Fee Pools

Pros
  • Decentralization gives BitShares robustness against failure. When a centralized exchange is compromised, millions of dollars and thousands of users are impacted all at once. In a decentralized system, any attack or failure impacts only a single user and their funds. Users are in control of their own security, which can be much better than any centralized entity. There is a fixed cost associated with attempting to hack an exchange or an individual user. The difference is the size of the reward. If you place a multi-million dollar bounty on attacking a specific exchange, then you can expect a lot more effort to be put into compromising that exchange than would be put into attacking your individual account. Within a given company, multiple people usually have access to customer funds. You may have heard the expression, “Three can keep a secret if two are dead”. Currently, all centralized exchanges end up depending upon multiple people who share the responsibility of guarding the secret key that controls the funds. If any one of them is compromised, everyone’s funds are put at risk. Because of this, being individually responsible for maintaining your own secrets is the only safe option.
Cons
  • Sluggish web app.

Centralization Compromises Privacy In order to have even the slightest bit of privacy, the exchange functionality needs to be divided among hundreds of parties who are unlikely to collude to compromise identity. This is not economically practical today, because the exchange order book creates market incentives that naturally tend toward centralization in just a few exchanges with the vast majority of market share.

Pros
  • BitShares is the first smart contract platform with built-in support for recurring payments and subscription payments. This feature allows users to authorize third parties to make withdrawals from their accounts within certain limits. This is a convenient way to “set it and forget it” for monthly bills and subscriptions.
Cons
  • When you are going to trade with commodities like gold, silver or even the fiat currency, you gotta give in exchange something with at least similar rate of value-fluctuaction, which cryptos are not.

The potential use cases for user-issued assets are innumerable, and the regulations that apply to each kind of token vary widely, and are often different in every jurisdiction. BitShares provides the tools to allow issuers to remain compliant with all applicable regulations when issuing assets.

Pros
  • BitShares provides a high-performance decentralized exchange, with all the features you would expect in a trading platform. It can handle the trading volume of the NASDAQ, while settling orders the second you submit them.
Cons
  • No company has successfully implemented the platform.

Companies can issue their own stock on the BitShares network and allow easy, low-cost trading with complete protection against naked shorting.

Pros
  • BitShares has an advanced referral program built directly into its software. Financial networks derive their value primarily from their network effect: more people on the same network increases the value of that network for everyone. BitShares capitalizes on this by rewarding those who sign up new users, and does so in a fully transparent and automated way.
Cons
  • I do not see any defects.

You can trade any amount, at any time, from anywhere, without withdrawal limits. All other legally compliant exchanges have daily withdrawal limits. Those who wish to exceed standard limits must provide increasingly invasive levels of documentation. Some exchanges, such as Coinbase, even limit what you can do with your money after you have withdrawn it. Other exchanges demand documentation of how you earned your cryptocurrency. With BitShares, no one must approve your account. You have complete

Pros
  • BitShares is built for viral growth, and has game-changing, industry-leading incentives.
Cons
  • The bitshare community is not big.

BitShares is designed to be self funding and self-sustaining by giving the stakeholders the power to direct where blockchain reserves are spent. BitShares has a reserve pool of 1.2 billion BTS (about $8 million dollars) that automatically grows as transaction fees are collected and the share price rises. Each day, the blockchain is authorized to spend up to 432,000 BTS (about $77,000 per month), which is enough to hire a small team to maintain the network for years, even with no price…

Pros
  • SmartCoins are a powerful tool for everyone from speculators and savers, to traders and entrepreneurs. The BitShares platform provides a toolset with which innovators can experiment to find optimal currency solutions using free market discovery.
Cons
  • I do not see real value from the platform.

Every Dollar, Euro, bitcoin and ounce of gold held as a SmartCoin on the BitShares exchange is backed by up to twice the reserves of traditional centralized exchanges. The traditional banking system has long practiced what I like to call fictional reserve banking, more commonly known as fractional reserve banking.

Pros
  • The BitShares platform provides a feature known as "user-issued assets" to help facilitate profitable business models for certain types of services. The term refers to a type of custom token registered on the platform, which users can hold and trade within certain restrictions. The creator of such an asset publically names, describes, and distributes its tokens, and can specify customized requirements, such as an approved whitelist of accounts permitted to hold the tokens, or the associated trading and transfer fees.
Cons
  • The activity of community is not much. The majority of participants are interested in pricing rather than the underlying

Pros
  • The heart of BitShares is the SmartCoin system which enables the creation of 200% collateralized IOUs from the BitShares network. A BitUSD has all of the properties of Bitcoin combined with the price stability of the US dollar. At any point in time you can sell a BitUSD for at least 1 dollar worth of BTS. If at any time the value of the collateral falls below a certain point the blockchain will automatically buy back the BitUSD with a dollars worth of BTS.
Cons
  • I think we need to promote marketing to build the community.
