In order to expand the processing capabilities of such transactions, Zilliqa has used sharding technology to solve this problem.
Zilliqa has successfully built a sample blockchain on TestNet with a processing speed of 2488 transactions per second with only 3600 nodes and 6 shards.
If Zilliqa is operated on a network with Nodes equivalent to the current Ethereum (22,000 Nodes), the processing speed will exceed 15,000 transactions per second, almost double the average speed of the VISA, which is the payment network.
the largest in the world today. Currently, Bitcoin and Ethereum can only process up to 20 transactions per second.

Pros
  • Zilliqa has two unique security features: Hybrid consensus mechanism (HCM): The first layer of Zilliqa’s HCM verifies the identity of nodes. This stops Sybil attacks from happening. The second layer of the HCM gives transactions finality so there can be no hard forks on the network. Scilla: Zilliqa has its own coding language called Scilla. Scilla only allows developers to create software that will run safely on the Zilliqa network. Users can trust the smart contracts that are written using it.
Cons
  • Greater competition among platforms for smart contracts and dApps.
