I tried a similar product but it crackled and failed to decode a number of streams. This product works with all advertised stream types and I love the fact that there is a volume control that also adjusts the line level outputs so I can adjust the levels before they reach my amp. I use several of these to decode the output of my HDMI matrix switcher. The Matrix can only decode extracted stereo PCM and does not support HDMI ARC. This way I can send a full audio stream to rooms that have Dolby/whatever, but still send stereo sound to my amp, when I don't have surround sound systems. This is about the same as the much more expensive RTI ADA-1 or similar with more features. Keep in mind you'll need a USB power adapter to use it - it doesn't come with it, but it does come with a USB power cable. I ended up with a multi-port USB charger to support multiple devices I bought.
