problems! 2 docking stations with power alerts, fan failure, USB port and headphone jack.

Let me save you hundreds of dollars and share my experience. I run two such docks in two different Dells. Small low power and high power workstation. USB turns on and off, they have random fan and power alerts, headphone jack doesn't work on either. Drivers are up to date and laptops are less than 6 months old. I've spent hours getting them to work, but they just don't work as well as the old doc that used to be tucked into the bottom of your laptop. If you work remotely or need these documents for something other than charging, I would absolutely avoid this technology. if the laptop has enough ports to support 4 USB ports and two additional display ports. My colleagues also struggle with some of these issues, so this isn't just a bad batch. I suspect driver and hardware issues. What to Expect When You Buy: Problems will slowly spread to you. First it will be an F1 performance issue. You must boot through the warning. Second, you'll notice lag on your other monitors. Thirdly, the fan will have problems, it will work constantly and issue error warnings. Third, your USB ports and microphone jack can accidentally fail. Suggested fixes, update your drivers, move as many USB drives into your laptop's ports as you can, and get a USB microphone with a built-in headphone jack. Hold the power supply and mount the block in an elevated position to allow air to pass underneath. Problems will slowly turn you on. First it will be an F1 performance issue.
