I bought this necklace to fill my beloved cat Misfit with ashes. This chain is well made. It was easy to open and put your ashes inside. I used a box with a ring to hold it in place while I put some of its fur and ashes inside. The chain is a bit flimsy but I wear this chain all day and even at night and it seems to be holding up. This locket really allows me to literally hold my cat close to my heart when I wear it.
