Review on Secure and Convenient Car Windshield Suction Cup Mount for COBB Tuning AccessPORT V3 by Loren Schmidt

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fits well but tilts on its own.

This product is priced right. Otherwise the manufacturer has to change it. Pros: - The fit and finish of the V3 AccessPort stand is perfect - Overall this item looks like a quality product and is made from a strong, presumably impact resistant plastic (probably ABS, most likely Polypropylene) - The suction cup stays in place. In my use of this mount, the shell has only come off the windshield once or twice - the vertical tilt adjustment lever stays in place once you adjust it as desired. Bad: - Suction cup mount could use a little more suction and would be much better - Ball joint which allows you to Positioning the AccessPort the way you want it does a pathetic job. Either the ball is too small or the nest is too big. No matter how hard you tighten the connection, the AccessPort will still tend to tilt or even wobble, depending on how much force is being applied to the connection. OBDII cable. A hard turn can sometimes cause it to move. This is of course not ideal in a racing scenario. I have stopped using this item and simply attached the original bracket that came with my V3 AP directly to the windshield (note that this was Cobb's intention and this bracket was not designed to be permanently attached to the windshield will). hyphen / etc.). It looks a bit "cheaper" as the original mount used glue instead of a high quality suction cup. but it stays in place and doesn't tilt or rotate unless I move the hotspot manually. All in all, this suction cup mount was a great idea, it just wasn't made to the same tight tolerances as the original Cobb mount, making it less useful. You could probably stick tape or another pad of your choice in the outlet to add more friction and prevent it from tipping/falling without input. Or the company that made the product may actually do quality control and try to make reasonable improvements to their products.
