Review on Necoichi Portable Ultra Light Carrier by Reginald Pitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Doesn't work for some cats / Great for others!

This carrycot is perfect if you have an indoor cat that you spend time with on a regular basis. One cat loves it, he's over 12 pounds, is usually a soft guy and seems to enjoy it a lot more than a hard, cold (regular hard plastic) carrier. When it's time to go to the vet, I can slide it in and out with ease, and it zips both ways, so you can even leave a gap to reach in and pet it. The bottom feels like it's going to give, but it won't, but something in the bottom would easily make it even better. The vet loved it and so did I. Folds up and packs away in a box! Now for the second cat. The second cat was a lifesaver, wild and creepy. She's cute, but she needs a tougher carrier to make her give up or stay calm. She struggles with this host, interpreting the softer, more transparent sides as a way out. I can still use it on her but have to tell her no and stop her from squeezing the mesh and zippers. If you have a feral or crazy cat, or a cat that you don't work with or that goes mad when placed in a carrier, that carrier is terrible for those cats and will not work.

Pros
  • Soft Carrycot
Cons
