I highly recommend purchasing a sturdy ball head or light pole mount that can be tilted with this unit. The design is such that when installed on a light stand you only have one orientation available - vertical. Like most viewers of this article, I bought this one to incorporate multiple torches into a single modifier. The device is well made and has a rather simple design, made entirely of metal. The hot shoe mount is not my favorite design as there is always a chance of damaging the shoe on the flash. It doesn't bother me because of the compactness. The only point of criticism is the design of the umbrella holder. The shield is frictionally held in the body by a metal flange. For light umbrellas this will be enough, but large umbrellas will start to slip and over time the pressure from this piece of metal will surely ease. But for the price I would happily buy more.
