After leaving, I twice left my phone in the cafe when I got up to leave (the owner was kind enough to catch and keep it for me) and almost had it at the ATM (in which case it would be gone forever), I hired this little guy to keep my expensive phone on a belt loop and it works great. It's lightweight, easy to install and easy to put on and take off my pants and phone. I really can't get enough of it. The clip itself is of good quality and is hinged to the device, allowing it to move freely with you and never get tangled. It's also big enough to attach to almost anything: belt, belt loop, backpack strap or whatever. The part that attaches to your phone is first glued with a very strong double-sided adhesive that you simply peel and stick onto your phone or phone case. (Of course I use Otterbox so I just attached it to the back). Attached to this with a strap is a standard backpack style clip which then slides in or out of the base unit which attaches to your pants or whatever. It all takes 2 seconds to set up every morning when I leave home for work: clip block to belt loop, clip phone, phone in pocket. That's all. After connecting, you can freely take your phone out of your pocket to make calls, to read and do everything, and then put it back in your pocket, and the fiber optic cable attached (not steel, see photo). below) retracts automatically and smoothly. My phone is very heavy so the natural tension of the cord will do little to prevent my phone from hitting the ground if it slips out of my hand, although not always. But with a lighter phone like the iPhone I think, and certainly something lighter, it would definitely prevent the phone from falling to the ground. It's powerful enough to be secure, but not powerful enough to notice when you want to use your phone. If you really need to detach the device from your phone, e.g. B. when you come home at night, just pull the clip out of the device and you're done. The only, what I would like to say negatively is that Gear Keeper chose to use a hard wire cable instead of steel. So far it's been really difficult and I don't see any problems with the base unit that attaches to your pants. But the part that attaches the clip for the phone itself to the one that is permanently attached to the phone/phone case is already worn out. And because it's attached to a swivel rather than a loop, it can't be easily swapped out for another cable. You have to write to the company and ask for a replacement clip, and that's painful. I wish they had made at least that part out of steel if not all the cords on both devices: the main cord on the pants and the small one on the phone. Hope everything makes sense. The price is definitely a bit high but I can't get enough of it.
