could not continue

This drive worked fine for about 2 weeks with only a 64GB Sandisk Micro SD memory card inserted. Never been subjected to violence. Stopped working after 2 weeks of moderate use. The card still works as I tested it with other readers and it worked fine.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Some little things

Small changes are welcome.

Works as advertised at USB 3.0 speeds as far as I can tell. Speeds are limited by MicroSD speeds. It would be perfect if it had a loop for a small strap. (Or came with a tiny strap) The sides are smooth plastic so it's difficult to get them out of the computer if the USB is stuck. A bit of texture on the side would have been nice.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Security

HIGH SPEED + DOWNLOADS OK

bought this handy dandy dudad to speed up data transfer to my hot plug backup solution as my old dongle couldn't download anything and was USB 1 so it was the Time to copy 300GB of data 3 days continuously with USB 1 key about 1 hour 40 minutes With this new Atlas dongle I can boot the GNU software from the USB stick because it's too much to ever put on the hard drive fit, sincerely, customers

Works perfectly. on memory card readers

Works great. This is only needed to take the micro SD memory card out of the dashcam and watch the video on the computer. But I just found out that it also works with my security systems to secure tagged videos. Great little thing. The only downside is that it's small. I've almost lost it twice already.

Good option for adding an external micro SD slot to Raspberry Pi

Thanks to the many phones and mobile devices I've had over the years, I've found myself with a large collection of micro SD cards. I got this little reader as an easy way to transfer files between them instead of the bulky micro SD -> SD card adapter -> USB stick I was using. So far it works great.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • unreliable

Important cooler!

I have bought many of these over the years. everything is fine and working. In contrast, I also have a pair of USB3 adapters with "different body type" that have been paired with a branded microSD card. These lightweight mini USB3 adapters are blown or failed. Presumably due to overheating of the chip inside due to the lack of a cooler. This USB3 mini microSD adapter is "heavy/bulky" and keeps the chip and card cool when you use it to transfer big long files/data like I do. Nobody failed.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • There are new competitors

It works but it gets hot - is this normal?

When I insert the "Samsung Evo Plus Class 10 UHS-I microSDXC U3" card into the Transcend SD/MicroSD to USB Adapter, it doesn't get hot, but this micro adapter does get hot. Seems to be hotter than I would like with prolonged use. It is in order? I do not know. So I went back to the Transcend USB adapter and put it in a drawer for later use when the USB drive runs out of space.

  • Availability
Cons
  • Almost everything included

good but gets hot

Good compact adapter. Works well. A Few Notes.1. The SC card will protrude slightly from the end of the adapter. Do not rinse.2. After 10 minutes of watching the video. In order to test a constant reading, the adapter heats up a little. I'm sure it will probably get hotter after a full 1-2 hours of continuous reading. No problem, because that's not the goal. I just want to periodically copy files from it. In general, that's good. I will buy again.

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Expensive

Great for what it is.

This microSD adapter isn't perfect, but it's perfect for me. Based on how my PC was set up, I've found that just buying a cheap MicroSD card reader adapter is cheaper than any other alternative I can think of. Everyone wants double or more for a brand name reader/adapter and cheaper ones will likely burn your card or erase something. It's not fast (read/write time depends on the card, not necessarily the port or adapter), it's kinda hard to insert or remove, easy to lose (about the size of my…
