I had a wood rot problem and watched a Wood Wizzards video on replacing with epoxy for structural wood repairs. I looked for reasonable alternatives and Abatron turned out to be a bomb. I de-rotted the wood, applied Abatron liquid wood to the bare wood and then flooded it with WoodEpox wood substitute. In my case the beam was 20 or 30 percent damaged from wood rot and under simple loading. ASTM tests show that WoodEpox has similar strength to softwoods such as pine and should withstand the…

Today's most proven epoxy resin

I have tried many wood repair epoxies and this is now the best choice for small and large wood repair projects. For those who don't know, wood has gone up in price. The tree replacement job is just as bad. I'm a handyman and have long chosen to do most repairs myself. I'm getting experience with this project and keeping the existing wood in place. I got the largest container as I have used several smaller containers in previous projects. Trust me you won't regret your purchase. True, it's not…

Pros
  • wood simulation: Once WoodEpox has hardened, it can be easily sanded, sawed, milled, drilled, nailed, stained and painted.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Excellent, durable and very competitive price for this lot.

This is a very good product and fantastic price for the quantity (approx 2 gallons by volume) for such a strong epoxy. It's slightly different from other epoxies I've used. It's clearly strong enough for structural use (this isn't explicitly stated, but the PSI endurance is obviously very high) and after a few hours it's fully weatherproof and suitable for drilling, sandblasting and painting. . It's not quite like other epoxies I've used: when you start mixing it it's more like a cake, so don't

Pros
  • Repair Rotted Wood: Fill in and repair missing pieces of wood to restore wooden windows, doors, panels, columns, poles and other wooden elements. Permanently repairs damage caused by weather, moisture, mold and insects. Eliminates damage from termites, ants, bugs, bees and other animals.
