Very simple solution and easy to install

I had a problem with my 2009 Pontiac G8 that wouldn't start after filling up. That solved the problem! A very simple solution that wasn't difficult to install. Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Doubtful

Fits 2008 Suzuki XL7

My wife's new car had OBD codes P0496 and P0451, both related to the evaporative system. If you suspect your solenoid valve has failed, there is an easy way to check it, remove the original from your car and blow it out to see if it is stuck open. If air flows easily through when removing, the part is bad.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Buy extra! If you have a saturn look

I have a saturn look 08 This little thing failed for 3 months causing my car to die This one drives great today hold one ready, my car spat and spattered until this one was replaced. This simple fix caused a lot of chaos for an $18 part. I would suggest having a spare on hand for some reason, they don't. It doesn't last very long but when they work they do a good job oh and it also FINALLY fixed my blinking traction control light

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Perfect repair, 08 CTS

Perfect replacement and such an easy job. It took me 5 minutes. I can finally refuel without running the engine for 30 seconds to start it. FYI, if your car does not start easily after filling up, you can check if this is the culprit. Credit this information to the K Diagnostics YouTube channel. This is a normally closed valve. Disconnect the power cord and inlet hose (rear-facing side). Start the engine and check for suction where the intake hose was. When you wear a latex glove, it kind of…

  • Very expensive

A 2008 Acadia worked fine but sometimes had to turn the crank a lot to start. I heard the engine ticking, similar to a valve knocking due to a failed hydraulic compensator. In my case there were no codes. I put my finger on the purge solenoid valve with the engine running and felt a ticking sound coming from it. This part is located on the driver's side in the engine compartment. Something hidden behind the throttle body. The part was easy to replace. Two hoses, a cable connector and a screw…

Fixes starting problems after filling up

Researched online the cause of starting problems after filling up my 2008 Cadillac with gas. Everything pointed to a worn canister purge valve as the cause. It was double the price of Revain at my local auto parts store, so guess what? I bought it from Revain. It took me over an hour to install just because I'm a lay mechanic. After installing it, I expected an "immediate fix", but the car still started several times as before. I finally started it and drove it for a while. I just had to walk…

It only took 5 minutes to fix my Acadia.

I ordered this part to repair P0496 on my 2008 Acadia. I had intermittent problems disabling the traction control system. About a week after the start I filled up and my car wouldn't start. I cranked it 5 times before it finally fired and I was able to get home. The check engine light was on all the time and after I turned it off at home the car wouldn't start. I order this part and install it easily using the video I found on the Acadia forums. After installation, the car did not start…

Perfect Fit for a 2007 Suzuki XL7 - Tips

Perfect Fit for a 2007 Suzuki XL7 that was intermittently displaying an EVAP system related trouble code and the Check Engine light came on. Pretty easy installation (if I can do it, so can you since I'm not a mechanic). Remove the engine cover (remove the oil cap and slide the sides out). The part is closer to the rear of the engine (left side). Disconnect the electrical (from the old part) by pushing and pulling on the small tab. Larger connection (one-sided hose connection) by sliding over…

  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Perfect fit, easy to swap out.

My 2007 GMC Acadia had the check engine light come on and after checking the codes found it was 1 of 3 problems. First, I replaced the gas cap - the easiest and most inexpensive. I cleared the codes and drove for a while but the check engine light came on again. The second option is the flush valve. It took a bit of searching, but this is a very easy replacement. The plastic cover of the engine is torn off, then part of the "insulating carpet" must be pulled back at the top of the engine block.
