Was a replacement for my daughter's worn out DVD player. She used it for about a day and it fell to the ground. The infrared lamp broke and is now unusable. Bought a car locally.

The battery compartment on the remote control that came with my DVD player is too rusty to work. I ordered this duplicate and it worked great without the packaging. It's a cheap remote but better than buying a new DVD player! I couldn't get the universal remote to work, but it was great.

The battery in my standard remote has run out. This is a great replacement. It's shorter than the original but has two AA batteries installed (not included) and works perfectly. No programming required. Very happy with this purchase. It was delivered quickly and now I can once again control the volume between shows without having to get up and look for hidden knobs on the side of the TV.

Update: 5 stars vs 2. It was possible to use the remote control and it's actually very easy to start the DVR player. I haven't bothered with other buttons yet. really not necessary. This was the correct remote control for my DVD player and was identical to the one that came with it. Unfortunately, some of the buttons worked with my DVD player and others didn't, which is beyond disappointing. It seemed like the perfect solution to save money and keep my old player that I lost the remote for, but ended up going back to get my money back and just investing in a brand new DVD player instead. Ah, it was worth a try.

My toddler threw away the remote control for our old Sony DVD player and it broke beyond repair. We went without a remote for about a year, but using the stop and play buttons on the DVD player itself meant we couldn't watch some of our shows. So I made a note of the model number and started looking for a Revain replacement. This is the exact same remote control that came with our DVD player.
