Great boots for long hikes!

Not only are these boots beautiful and stylish, they're incredibly comfortable right out of the box. I went hiking two days in a row and it didn't bother me at all. The only thing I noticed is that they get dirty and don't turn completely black after cleaning. Otherwise these boots are great.

  • Cool

Great fit but after 4 months they started falling apart

These shoes were amazing when I first got them. hiking), and they have a hole where my foot buckles at the toes. I expected more for expensive boots. They're surprisingly comfortable but don't seem to last. Sad.

  • understandable even for old people

Hacking is not required!

They arrived in the mail two days before I was supposed to hike the Grand Canyon - I walked 16 miles and the boots felt light but supportive and durable. I went rim to rim in them for the next week - the perfect lightweight shoe with great ankle support and they fit perfectly right out of the box. No blisters, no sores, just comfortable waterproof shoes.

So comfortable! - Trail running

I bought it in two sizes and colors. I liked both colors but the black one was half a size too big which I needed. I recently got orthopedic insoles and was looking for new hiking shoes. You are perfect! I had to move away from what I was used to. I went to 7.5. I have a narrow heel and wide toe with bursitis. It was very comfortable. It took me a few days to get used to the zero drop cure but now I like them more than any other shoe I own.

Cons

Walked 31 miles with them right out of the box!

Ran 50km (Pemi White Mountains, New Hampshire Loop) with this accessory right out of the box! They saved me from a total ankle flip at mile 2 (that's why I bought them - thank goodness). I was able to keep going as it was insignificant compared to what usually happens to me. Great grip and no blisters, just a manageable pain at the end of the hike but as a newbie and with so many miles that's to be expected. They handled wet rocks perfectly and kept my feet dry. i really love her I can't wait…

So comfortable! for trail running

I love Altra shoes! - Athletic

First of all, I have bursitis which prevents me from doing this to wear normal shoes. When I discovered Altra shoes, I fell in love. Now I have two pairs and both have done their job. My ankles don't hurt, my foot/toe doesn't hurt. I can hike and run without discomfort. I had high ankle/saucony boots for walking. But after my accident and the creation of this wonderful bone. I can't wear them anymore. I wore these shoes during a 6 hour strike at work and felt great. I fell in love with my…

Pros
  • Feel Comfortable: Balanced Signature Altra cushioning and FootShape toe inserts allow your toes to relax and maintain correct, low-impact form during your run

Used on my AT hike (500-900 miles per pair)

Got this shoe for my AT hike. I only used alts on the trail but made sure to try different lonely peaks throughout the trip. This shoe was my favorite. The lacing makes them very easy to put on and take off. I have used shoe inserts but if you walk all day every day this is to be expected. The shoes are not waterproof but protect well against light to medium rain. They start to tear on the sides where your foot flexes, but that only makes them less waterproof, it doesn't affect the quality of…

Love - no hacking, very convenient.

Love. Plenty of room for toe splay and hooks for a natural gait while the rest of the shoe still comfortably wraps the foot. I usually wear size 9 shoes and size 9.5 fits me best. I like medium heights so much (ankle support and not such a heavy boot) that I could even wear low tops. Shoes are incredibly light for their size, looking forward to lots of trails. A word of warning to those unfamiliar with zero drop shoes - while it didn't take me long to get used to the ZD, nor time to break in…
