Have to keep reinstalling.

When they work, they're great. BUT they have to be constantly reinstalled. They lock and disconnect and I have to unplug them from the POE switch and plug them back in to reset them. I have 8 other Amcrest IP cameras (3MB version) on the same system and they don't have this problem. I've set both to automatically reset once a week and even that doesn't help. Again, NONE of the other 8 on this 16 channel DVR does. They work great. It's too late to return them, so I guess I'll have to manually…

Ease of installation. in Camera & Photo

With all the wireless options on offer today, it's good to always have a wired camera; but even better when only one ethernet cable is needed, faster speeds regardless of interference and water problems in the antennas. This POE enabled camera is very easy to set up, the apps (Cloud and ViewPro) are easy to use and follow with no setup required, but if required there are many features you can set up to make a very professional setup or just a home surveillance system. The viewing angle is also…

One of the best brands

The price and quality of this camera sets it apart from more expensive brands. You get higher resolution at a lower price. Setting up this camera is easy: plug it in, launch the app to find the camera, add it to the app and view it. You can connect it to an NVR or just a regular switch to view live video. The mobile app is pretty much the same as other brands but seems a little better, easier to use and set up. Follow the instructions Amcrest provides with the camera and installation took no…

PERFECT FOR ME for video surveillance

I didn't know anything about buying or installing a camera like this, but I knew I needed a wired camera so I didn't have to worry about charging or batteries. I searched for cameras on Revain and YouTube and found out about PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras. Installation was so easy, I just had to run a coax cable (used Cat 6) from the camera to the required add-on, a PoE switch I bought from Revain, and a short coax cable from the switch to my router. That's all. I also bought a 256GB SD card

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Good price but there are glitches

Pros: 1) Very good image quality, good night vision and range 2) Inexpensive 3) Responsive tech support Cons: 1) Having already added this model to two others at used Amcrest cameras (one the same 5MP, the other 8MP) I noticed that the third camera was disconnected from my network every few days. Disconnecting and reconnecting the POE cable would bring the camera back online, but it would eventually turn off again. I ended up replacing it with a 5-megapixel camera from another manufacturer…

Quality camera with great picture

I have installed over 20 Amcrest units and about 10 other types of units. I prefer Amcrest for the image quality, build quality and durability. I have attached some footage taken with the 5MP UltraHD Outdoor POE Camera 2592 x 1944p both during the day and at night in conditions that show the quality of the camera. Both day and night shots are exceptional. These cameras support integrated POE with the ability to receive power from a wall outlet. They contain the necessary equipment for Category…

Crisp image suitable for camera and photo

I bought this camera to use in my driveway so I can keep an eye on people going in and out of our home office. I also wanted to make sure customers' cars were parked where they shouldn't be. I expected the image to be similar to my other PTZ cameras. So I was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the image very clear, but I could zoom out to about 300 feet using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software (digital) and still see people. Because the camera uses a POE connection, I didn't

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

UPDATE: Best Bang for Your Buck

UPDATE 2: I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars based on the fact that they worked for a month. So far I am very happy with the performance of these cameras, the image width, depth of field and clarity deserve high marks for a camera at a reasonable price. Once I figured out how to manipulate the mount so I could point the camera where I wanted, everything went smoothly. I initially thought the lens hood was too short, but it seems to work well enough, although I still think they should lengthen…
