Aqueon MiniBow Aquarium Starter Lighting Review

I just moved our Betta to this tank because I had problems with his main habitat. After a few hours we noticed that the fish was swimming/resting chaotically and strangely - on its side, upside down etc. I found pieces of fish in the filter. Apparently he was attracted to the filter and died from his injuries. No betta aquarium should have a filter that can injure/kill a betta.

Ideal aquarium for one or more fish such as neon tetras. I particularly like that the hole in the feed trough no longer has a flap since feed was collected in our last tank that the children did not put in properly. The filter sits comfortably on the side and makes a slight whirring noise that you only hear when you are standing directly in front of the tank. There is a hole on the back for a heater if needed. Highly recommended!

I actually just returned the panorama aquarium for it and I'm so happy. The LED lights are very bright and make the aquarium look clear. In addition, the upper does not sit directly above the water and there is room for cords in the back. In another aquarium, the bulbs changed color, but surprisingly they looked very weak. I like this tank as does my dear Casper. It has so much room to move. The filter is VERY quiet and the flow is not too strong. One thing I did was put a Fluval Edge pre-filter sponge on the intake pipe to keep its fins from being sucked in. The tank and filter will do, but a fully open filter with no sponge only requires dead fish of all sizes. This is a serious oversight by Aqueon. Lighting is acceptable but nothing special. The plastic case was riddled with scratches and they only got worse over time.
