A brand new skill anyone can learn

Purchased as a first etching project. So far I've only used a mustache and I'm not sure I'll ever use Rest. I etched a small glass with an Armor Glass etching kit and it worked almost perfectly. I say almost because it was my first time and I wanted a "deeper etch" but for the first time I have to give both products an A+ for being able to use them. After I etched the glass I was able to remove the stencil and put it back on the plastic sheet next time. I don't know, but I see a lot of use forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Mustache: approx 2 x 0.5 in h
Cons
  • Wrinkled Packaging

Seemed easy to work with

Just not quite what I expected. It seemed easy to work with but I did tried to draw a small palm tree on bamboo, thought it would be easy because one side was sticky so it wouldn't move. However, after painting and removing the stencil, a lot of paint also came off so I had to do my best do to sand down the bamboo and repaint the area all i did was basically a mess i think it depends on what you are using the stencil for it may only work well for etching from glass.I tried twice to use it onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nose and mouth: approx: 1.25 x 2"h
Cons
  • Some small things

For making wedding favors

I used these to make favors for my daughter's beach wedding. This is the first time I've etched glass, and I was very pleased with how easy it was These are the stencils Used a few times I had no leakage from under the stencil but rubbed it hard The only complaint I have is that the dolphin stencil was torn (nose and tail very close to the edge and stopped my not very gentle handling.) On the other hand, my husband ordered a second set (along with another nautical set) so we could get different

Pros
  • Noses: Approx 1 x 0.75"h
Cons
  • There are new competitors
