I bought this to avoid paying for a modem rental from Xfinity (Comcast). It was easy to set up. Removed the old Xfinity modem and put this one in. I called Xfinity and spoke to support (the most painful part of the process) and they pinged to detect the modem and within 30 minutes I was up and running. Wi-Fi performance is good, although I use a separate long-range router since I live in a three-story house. This modem/router is perfect for an apartment or small house (depending on location).

This works with Xfinity phone and internet and was easy to install once you figured out you have to leave it online for a few minutes and then it's easy there. My biggest problem is the wifi. My pack is rated for the 600m/s that the router gets when connected to my PC. However, when I use WiFi, even standing next to the router, I get a maximum speed of 270-300, when I walk to the room next door without obstacles, the speed drops to less than 100. Looks easy to set up, just copy what you see on an existing modem - I haven't installed it yet and someone came along to do it for me. Wow that's all I can say. There was an old cable/voice modem 8x4 which is much faster. While it works great. Activation. key moment. Wait while it syncs. (10 minutes or so) I WAS A BREEZE. This is a direct replacement for the Xfinity Internet and Voice Gateway that many people pay $10 a month or more to use. Installation was difficult, after spending 4 hours with Comcast phone technicians they gave up and asked me to make an appointment with one of the technicians ($70 per Visit).
