Easy to set up and VERY fast!

I love this line of Aruba Instant-on products and love the speed of Wifi6 hotspots. It's a no-brainer for customization and works pretty well. This is a new product and I've had a bit of instability - this device turned off Wi-Fi (no sign showing on the Wi-Fi scanner), although it believes it's still working. However, the tech support was great and jumped right in to help me. Seems better now. Good product!

Easy to set up and works great!

So far so good. I was able to connect this to my PoE switch and it got an IP address from my DHCP server. I downloaded the Aruba Instant On app and completed the setup. By logging into the InstantOn website from my computer, I was able to do some additional settings and check connected devices, etc. I also got good WiFi 6 speeds and a long range.

  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not the best

Really decreases wifi performance

No improvement over my previous Netgear AC1450. I've only tried 2.4GHz, 2.4+5GHz and 5GHz but the WiFi connection keeps dropping. I've tried limiting the channels to those least used by the neighbor's WiFi and that didn't help either. Don't buy this junk! My computer is 25 feet from the hotspot and Wi-Fi keeps dropping. To make matters worse, they charge for return shipping and restocking. I'm really disappointed with this product, the seller and Revain!

Great hotspot for home/small business

Simple and easy setup for home users with some technical skills. The cloud interface makes the hardware dumb, which can be frustrating for IT pros. AP works well although area management is poor. When removed from the access point, it switches correctly from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz; however, reverse motion remains at 2.4 GHz. Must be firmware related as the Pro Gear series (3XX and 5XX) do not suffer. AR-22 is a hundred times better than typical home "junk”. I highly recommend it for beginners…

WiFi-6 - Simple controls - Good price!

I replaced my existing Ubiquity Nano HD APs with Aruba API which improved throughput and coverage by 22.40%. BS reviews here. When you replace the access point, also replace the switch and do not create a bottleneck problem. Scan your property and place the hotspot in the right place. Operation was very easy for both switch1930 and AP22. Free cloud management without subscription. fees. Optional local to the switch. I haven't tried hotspot yet. Disadvantages: The fan on the Aruba 1930 switch…

The devices aren't broken, they just don't work as I expect.

This device just lacks QoS, prioritization and more compared to the ASUS device I ended up buying. Of course, it has some very limited options, but the ASUS device I bought later just had way more options. This device is like a set-and-forget device because it has so few options in comparison. You pay no annual subscription fee per year per unit.

Not Ready Yet - Wireless Access Points

What Was Easy? Assembly. As long as your network has DHCP enabled and you have access to the internet, you're set. You download their app, create an account, then connect the hotspot and follow the in-app instructions. What did I not like? Missing controls for in-app and web features. Extremely unassuming. That may change in the future, but in my opinion it's not worth the money. Better get something else if you want more control.

Pros
  • Many Will Fit
Cons
  • Not As Thick As Other Options

Not Prime Time Ready

Unlike switches, there is no local management option on the AP22. It also needs to be directly connected to the internet for the initial setup. This made my initial setup very difficult due to the network architecture. If I could use the instant app to connect directly to the hotspot during the initial setup instead of connecting to the internet to set it up via the app setup, it would be a lot easier. The instant connect shows potential, but until more firmware features are added, it just…

Great performance, ultra easy configuration, no extra options

I bought three of these to cover an odd shaped house where I couldn't run a third ethernet cable. Two of these are hardwired to my PoE switch and one is connected to the power adapter to provide additional outdoor coverage (the AP is indoors). The WiFi works great. Setting them up was an easy task; It took longer to install than it did to set up. I miss the user interface. For example, if you want to set up a speed-limited guest network, you're limited to four pre-configured speeds. Even older…
