If you have $400 to spend, just buy a bunch of these.

If you're looking for a beginner hat or an airplane spare part, look no further. Is that a $1,000 Bose? Of course not, but I wouldn't hesitate to compare them to $300 and $400 headphones. The only issue is that they can squeeze your head a bit for long periods of time, but the headband is lightweight metal and can be bent a little to make this easier. Do I plan to upgrade to active noise canceling kits, sure, but really can't complain about that.

  • Great Design

Durability?

I have doubts about this headset. I bought it last year and it has almost 80 hours on it. It has now been sent back to ASA for repair due to poor audio quality. It's hard to beat a lifetime warranty, but if it needs to be repaired every year it might not be such a good headset. Edit: I'm bumping it up to 4 stars because of the great customer service. I sent it in for warranty repair and in 8 business days I had my hands on a new set with round trip shipping included. It's hard to beat this type

Buy THIS headset if you are on a budget. AVOID Rugged Air Headsets

For the price this headset is great - I usually fly with an expensive Bluetooth noise canceling headset but I used this headset while training for a year , to be honest I sometimes wear them when my expensive headset goes haywire and I really like it. In my noisy Cessna 150, the mic doesn't pick up much background noise - even when climbing. Would recommend this headset to anyone on a budget. On the other hand I also bought a kids and adult Rugged Air headset (one each) - they are so terrible I

First flight failed. Garbage.

First time using my new headphones and they were great initially. The mic was great, the headphones were ok, they let in a little more ambient noise than I would have liked, but I could handle it. Then the left earpiece started turning off during my teacher's conversation and then passed out completely. I didn't notice it until 15 minutes later when it started in my right ear. The class was terminated prematurely. When we landed, I couldn't hear my instructor at all. I called the ASA about this

Great headset for headsets and intercom

The day I received my headset was the same day I had my scheduled flight. I was excited to try them and see how well they work. During the pre-flight, I set up the headphones and prepared them by adjusting the volume for each ear. After a bit of tweaking, I installed them where I need them. Once we started taxiing and reached takeoff, all calls from me to other aircraft were clear and calls from other aircraft were clearly audible. I have used the headset about 8 or 9 times and it has worked…

Great headphone. Worked great for me

Great headset. Worked great for me. Some reviews complain that they're too tight, but I believe that's because they didn't take the time to properly adjust this headset to ensure it fits properly. There are many adjustment points to make it suitable for almost everyone. I also placed mine on the box while flattening the headband so the pressure when putting it on was just what I needed to keep the earpads firmly attached to my head. If you're expecting a fancy GA headset, buy Lightspeed or…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance

I bought this headset for VFR training, I've never owned a headset. I looked at a number of options before deciding on this one. That's all you need for basic general aviation training. You do NOT have to spend 3-4 times more than this headset for a fancy headset. Your instructor will have a trendy one, but you won't. I wore this headset everyday 4-6 hours a day and it worked great. Good sound quality, decent noise cancellation, a good microphone and an acceptable weight on the head. It's snug…

Pretty impressive for the price!

I fly Cessna 150, 172 and 182 so it's quite noisy in the cockpit (for me). For the past year, I've only used my Lightspeed Sierra headset while flying, but I didn't want to spend more than $600 on additional headsets. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I decided to give it a try. I have now bought them for passenger use as I fly with other people more often. I was really impressed with them considering their price! Now for the rating: Noise Cancellation: 4.5 stars. They don't match my…
