Practically does what it should

Video is clear. That was the most important thing to me compared to many competing products. Switching via hotkeys is also almost painless. Not that it matters, the case is actually black, not silver. There are two oddities, namely: * Sometimes the mouse temporarily "lost" in system 1 when you switch to it from system 2 - it recovers within a minute or so * system 1 won't boot - stops when USB controller are initialized - if only the keyboard is not plugged directly into the 1st USB port on the

Works with Mac, PC and Wireless Keyboard/Mouse

Advantages: - Works with Windows 7 and Macbook Air laptops - Works with wireless keyboard and mouse - DVI and audio support - Individual port switching - Support for Shared USB 2.0 switch port hotkeys on the keyboard. Cons: - The included cables should be longer at the branched ends. Usage: Switching a home office between a home laptop (Mac) and two work laptops (Windows 7). Use time: 2 months. I was replacing a 2-port VGA KVM switch and needed to upgrade to at least 3 ports and DVI. My main…

Very happy with the product and support

Get a 2 port DVI switch. Very easy to connect, good cables and the switch itself is a bit heavy so it doesn't bang hard on my desk. Slight lag when connecting each computer individually, but with a newer Windows 7 box everything worked fine for a few minutes. The Windows XP box initially skipped no sound, but the FAQ on Aten's support site had the answer: Hold down this computer's button (the button on the face of the switch) until both lights for that button come on (a little twitter confirmed

Good device, good price, cable included, OOTB works.

Ordered this to replace a 4 port KVM from Raritan that suddenly became obsolete when I switched to a new Windows 7 computer. I was happy with the Raritan but found out it was discontinued. Never heard of this brand, read the reviews, checked the site and placed a bet. The kit comes with a scope of delivery and DVI connectors. This is an improvement over the old Raritan, which was VGA only. I have been using ATEN for several months. I'm happy with it - except for one thing I haven't figured out,

Keyboard Logitech K800 works with it!

I don't write many product reviews but when I was looking for a new KVM my main requirement was that it work with my Logitech K800 wireless backlit keyboard which I'm glad to be able to say that it is so! There are some other "features" although they are a bit annoying and leave me wanting more. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Works with Logitech K800 backlit keyboard! 2. ATEN's technical support is excellent3. DVI/Audio support Cons:1. Switching is a little slow (about 5-7 seconds before…

Works perfectly ! - Computer Components

I had no trouble setting up this 2 port DVI switcher from ATEN. I use it to share an LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse and powered speakers with two PCs; One runs Windows XP and the other Windows Vista. The included cable sets fit where needed (in my application, all ports were coupled without an adapter). It works great and I wish I had bought it sooner as I found it cumbersome to have two monitors, two PCs, two mice and two keyboards on the same desk. I haven't updated the firmware as the user…

The perfect product for my needs.

I bought this product after so much research and consideration because I already had a VGA/PS2 based KVM switch. Computers today have lost their PS2 switch just as they once lost their serial and parallel ports. More and more computers are now equipped with DVI connections, although VGA connections have not completely disappeared. This product is primarily intended if you have DVI connections on all your computers. I am currently using the Microsoft Wireless Natural Ergonomic Desktop Set 7000…

Unintuitive firmware update

I bought this KVMP to replace an old Belkin PS2 KVM that I've been using for years. Belkin worked great, but I got tired of looking for USB to PS2 adapters and it didn't support most of the multimedia keyboard features. Although this KVMP is relatively expensive (though not the most expensive), I was happy with the purchase. I had no problems and it worked great with my Logitech K550 wireless keyboard/mouse, all function keys and on screen indicators work great. The firmware is very simple and…

One of my best buys

This item may have been my favorite purchase of 2011. It allowed me to reduce four monitors to one. I waited a while to see if this thing held up and lo and behold it still works. The problem with any multiport switch is that if a port burns out, you're screwed. The supplied cables appear to be of good quality. I also hooked mine up to a surge protector with battery backup to try and protect against power surges and blackouts. Even if he dies this year, I'll be inclined to get another one. I…
