Excellent sling! on whetstones

After using different types of leather slings I need a wood backed fence. With the Beavercraft Stop you get two sides of leather and compound. I have used this compound before and I can make my knife razor sharp. For this strip I use my own blend, a darker one for a more aggressive sharpening and a lighter one for polishing the blade.

Fantastic sling! Fantastic price!

This sling is very well made with a beautiful wooden handle! I was very surprised to see that this handle is made out of solid oak as I'm pretty sure it's because of the texture and weight! You can't go wrong with this belt! Thanks BeaverCraft, you did it again 👍🏻

Plucking Knife

This reminds me of the tool my dad had. I thought about making one. But. When I received the materials, I would have had the cost of them. Green lapping paste is aggressive. I'll buy a very fine lapp diamond paste for the other side as I won't have a lot of hair on my arms with the green mix. UPDATE Preserved diamond paste with 200,000 grit from Lapp. The skin took the material and I used 3 times too much. 2 small marks on the syringe is too much on the paddle. I sharpened the Coldsteel vg-1…

If you like sharp knives, just get a leather belt.

This is the only leather sling I have ever used and I am amazed at the difference in the sharpness of my knives as well as the improved edge retention I have experienced after using this sling in the final step of sharpening. I like the length of this sling as it allows you to smoothly coat long knives in one pass. I have been using DMT diamond stones for a long time and have previously used an extra fine stone as a final step. I was curious if the sling would make a difference as I figured my…

Good product! BeaverCraft never disappoints!

The snare came in a beautiful sleek black box with a snare blade, green compound and a small instruction manual to get your knives razor sharp! I was chosen by the Instagram randomizer to win this product and it's really good and a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I managed to get it for free and have tried several Beavercraft items and I have nothing but good things to say about this company. I would recommend this sling and Beavercraft tools in general to anyone looking to get into wood

Hand tool repair needed

I have 3 BeaverCraft knives so I obviously tried their sling as well (I ordered a medium 14x2 sling). You can't cut wood without a belt to keep your knives razor sharp. When I received the belt, I noticed that the wood had some curvature because my straight-edged knife didn't fully touch the skin: there was a bump in the middle on one side and a hollow on the other. I ended up using 80 grit sandpaper to smooth down the leather which I felt was too shiny/smooth to hold the polish anyway…

Value for money, belt to last for many years

This is a fantastic belt turner, especially for small EDC knives or kitchen knives. I've used a knife belt, but that's not always the easiest or best way to buckle up, especially since I don't always wear a leather belt. At one point I broke down and spent a few dollars to set aside something for my sharpening kit. That it's double sided is good, but I might have preferred 2 different types/grains (suede/grain side) of leather. I know some people just prefer the gritty side, but depending on…

Apply some pressure

This is my first carrier so I have no comparison. The only reason for four stars is that there are no real instructions on how to use it, I'll admit you don't need any instructions. I've experimented with several knives and at first didn't feel it did anything to improve the blade left behind by my utility knife and sharpener. At some point, I realized that if I applied a lot more pressure, it would work for me. I pressed the knife blade lightly, as if polishing my car. Since I'm using a…

Great lanyard, I was missing that

I applied the composition to one side and left the other exposed. This belt is just what I needed for my knives to take the final step of being ready cut and incredibly sharp. The knife just isn't what it could be until it's slashed after sharpening, and then sharpening becomes infrequent as it only needs to be propped up with a belt. MUCH more efficient than I thought it could be. It's addicting, I keep it available and seem to use it all the time. Stop sharpening your blades to zero, just put

Not real leather, not real polish. Poor quality garbage.

First off this is absolutely NOT real leather, it's some sort of synthetic compound and it's painfully obvious once you touch and use it. So hit one. Then the imitation leather does not reach the edge of the oar; There is a good 1/8 inch clearance on all four sides of the blade. This means you cannot secure the innermost edge of your blades, especially with smaller blades like pocket knives and chef's knives, where the blade is on the outermost edge. The path to the handle. This renders the…
