Comes with Broan pm390

We bought this along with the Broan pm390 exhaust fan. It covers all parts of the fan well and is easy to clean with a soapy cloth. We love our hood fan.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Very expensive

Wrong dimensions

The hole before installation is 10 1/4 inches, after installing the screws the hole is 10 inches. actually 10 1/4 inches above the rivets holding the 10 3/16 together. I'm still planning how I'm going to install a 10 1/4" fan in a 10" hole.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

This is required when purchasing a Broan PM390 power supply.

I bought this with a Broan PM390 power supply. I highly recommend an insert to keep the unit looking "finished", easier to clean, and to protect the surrounding wood surface. The price of the Revain combined with the Power Pack was the best I've found.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some bugs

Insert size not accurate

When buying the next hood, it was recommended to buy an insert. They look good, but after installation, the open insert became smaller than the hood. We had to widen the hole manually, which made the whole installation difficult. It is better to buy a legitimate product with a complete part.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

So this setup was the perfect solution. I built a timber frame house.

Purchased to house a Broan vent for a range hood I built. There are no ventilation ducts in our house, so this installation was the perfect solution. I built a wooden frame to house this piece that will hold the vent in place. This gives the underside of the extractor hood a great finish.

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation
Cons
  • Guard

This is a great setup

Along with a fan and light this is a great setup for building your own exhaust system. Easy to install and less expensive than HD or Lowe. I would recommend a handyman with minimal skills. The fan doesn't move much air at low speeds, but it works at high speeds. And it's loud. Lamps are expensive and you have to buy them in big stores. i would buy again

  • Very good price

A must for DIY hoods

My husband is an aspiring carpenter who has taken it upon himself to build his own hood. He bought this piece (which matched our unit perfectly) and then framed the base of the hood around it as a template. This is a must when installing the vent we manufacture as it will extend the life of your range hood by taking its share of hot water and steam grease in place of the wooden base for the range hood. He highly recommends it.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Fits

Does the job - ranges, ovens and hobs

I bought this with a Broan PM390 Power Pack Hood Insert, Silver. I bought an old house with an empty wooden hood (no cupboard over the stove) and figured this liner would slide right in there, we put a fan in and that was it. I pre-downloaded all the manuals, specs, etc. that I could find on the internet. The instructions (both online and on the box) are confusing. We weren't even sure which end was up (it looks different in different drawings). My contractor had to call 800# for advice and the

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good but not great

They actually fit. It wasn't very expensive. The measurement is misleading.

I recently had to replace a fan and add it to my overrange fan setup because mice fell into it and died. I can understand why it's happening here, but it's irrelevant to the review. Let's just say whoever installed the original screwed it up halfway, and I'm still living with some of the consequences. I decided to replace everything as the old one was a bit rusty and obviously rough. In any case, I had a lot of trouble finding power adapters or earbuds that seemed to fit the hole. I actually…
