Birds ignore it

Not very happy so far. I don't know if it's because it's winter now or because it's too thick and the birds can't see what's inside. I have it next to two other feeders so it's not like there aren't any around. It's been about a month and the seeds are the same.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Lasted less than an hour.

I filled it with seeds and hung it on a high pole. I checked out an hour later and the bag was empty. At first I thought wow this is very popular and when I went out to check there was a chewed hole right in the bottom corner. There must be a stronger construction to survive these squirrel villains.

Disappointed: Birds

3 pieces received. The finches will have nothing to do with them. We have finches but they don't eat them. Have had them for about 2 months and in 3 different locations. They were a different brand last year and were like magnets with tons of birds flying towards them all the time. I have no idea why they didn't work for me, but I'm very disappointed.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Some bugs

Feeder toe strap ripped under the weight of the Nyjer seeds. Upon inspection and testing, the tie (which looks thick and strong) breaks easily. Maybe it was just a bad batch? If so, send me a replacement and I'll revise my review. PS: I have been buying Nyjer seed socks for a long time and this has never happened to me. A good feed bag can last for years.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Only available in white

Finches love this bag

I bought them for the price. So far they have held up better than the more expensive bags from the pet store. The main reason I gave them 5 stars is because Colorado animal and goldfinches prefer these bags to an expensive wire mesh or pet store feeder. The latter is always your last choice. They fight over the seeds in the C&S bag. NO bag lasts more than a year under our bright 5,000 foot sunlight, but they last as long as I've tried and I've tried probably 8 or 10 brands over the years.

Pros
  • Feeding and drinking accessories
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Bird Feeder Simple Nyjer Sack

Love it! Very simple and doesn't take up much space. House and purple finch were there 5 minutes after it was filled and hung (next to "traditional" birdhouses). The holes aren't too big, I filled it with Nyjer thistle seed and it holds the seeds very well, a little seed was lost when filling but not excessively - I put it in a deep bowl and used a funnel to fill. When filled, the bag itself is about 12" long and 2" wide (6" circumference), the rope is about 8" long. This bag will not…

Goldfinches love it.

This is the third finch feeder I have bought this summer. The first was a plastic tube that squirrels gnawed holes in to see if there was food they would like. Second, a good quality bag made of durable material. Depending on the quality of the material it's made of and the lack of birds eating the seeds in the sock, it will last a long time. I just got this a few days ago and we always have at least one goldfinch eating from it. Yes, as many have said, the fabric isn't very good and I expect…

Pros
  • Holds 8 ounces and includes 2 clips
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

This mesh pouch is a little shorter than I thought it would be, but I didn't read the product measurements either, so it's on me. I've read reviews of leaking more seeds when filling the bag, but there is a way to avoid this. I took my bag of niger seeds and opened the top of the bag. Then I put the mesh bag inside the seed bag. Take a small measuring cup (I used a 5 ounce paper cup) and fill the mesh bag completely while it is in the seed bag. Once the mesh bag is filled to the brim, pull the…
