Type of review

Measured OTA signal strength for multiple TV channels. Then I put this amp in, reducing the signal to all channels by 30 (my TV shows the signal strength on a scale of 0 to 100). When this amplifier is disconnected from the power supply, the signal level has not changed. Apparently the amplifier broke (when switched on, the power indicator came on). I returned it.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Expensive

I put the antenna in the attic and connected the antenna coax cable to the existing cable splitter (also in the attic) hoping to get the signal any of the televisions throughout the house. The plan failed until I replaced the splitter with this splitter to boost the signal. The signal now reaches the televisions in the bedrooms below. If you plan to go much further than 50 feet, you'll likely need another splitter to amplify the signal again. At least that was my experience.

Lost channels found

I'm glad this solved my problem of losing channels. I was slowly losing channels so I looked for another antenna that would cost more than this amp splitter. I jumped at the chance by reading reviews and articles about adding an amplifier/amplifier to fix a weak signal. After installing this Amplified Booster I went from 52 to 78 channels and added 26 additional channels. I am now getting channels that I lost. I like it, no need to go to the roof and change the antenna which I would have to…

Improved cabling, but nothing to improve signal quality

I bought this to fix random signal dropouts on my main Xfinity DVR (which shows 'low quality signal' in one of their utilities) and to replace an old splitter , the cable led into the junction box tricky. It has definitely improved the cable routing, but the signal strength received by the Xfinity DVR is exactly the same, despite needing to be powered and the signal 'boosted'. I doubt it actually does anything other than display the power LED to make you think it's doing anything. Otherwise he…

Although I have used and still use several ANTRONIX coaxial cable TV amplifier units, this is the first thing I do NOT like (OPS ON indicator light DOES NOT FULLY illuminate when this UNIT is connected to ANY electrical extension cord is; but reliable! I can't tell WHY! When plugged directly into an AC outlet (15 amp circuit) it's happy and works as expected! Unplug this unit and plug it into some modest LONG heavy-duty extension cords = OPS indicator light on this unit/unit is either NOT lit…

The supplied coaxial cable between the amplifier and the power supply (also included) is of very high quality and reliability. The signal from this amp is clear with almost no pixelation even in the rain when the old amp used to fail. . I am very impressed…

Ideal solution for audio and video accessories

I had a setup with a modem (with phone) and 2 TVs coming from an unbalanced splitter. About 3 months ago, several of my TV stations either started with a break, or after several years without any problems, there was no picture at all. I've called Shentel about 4 times and last Friday they finally dispatched a technician. He laid the line from the mast to my underground cable. It didn't help. In fact, on one of the TVs, the channel that broke up did not turn on at all. So this 87-year-old…

Amplifier works well and includes all components for installation

In short, I would buy this product again because it's inexpensive and does exactly what it's designed to do - distribute TV signals to multiple TVs without signal loss. After reviewing all antenna boosters to support 4 TVs, I settled on this one. The reason for my choice was the price, and the kit included all the necessary components for a full installation, including 75 ohm terminators for the unused outputs. This amplifier works well and all TVs receive a strong signal from an antenna on the

Works in my situation

Details of my installation - I live about 35 miles from the main network towers in my area - I had an omnidirectional antenna mounted on my roof and pointed towards the main towers (now I have two, more on that later) - I have 5 TVs connected to an old cable company junction box and cables - Cable lengths range from 20 feet to 100+ feet. For about 5 years this has worked on its own for me, except for bad weather and in particular one channel that was always either working or missing. I've been…
