Disconnects: computer and accessories

Looks nice, I like having a separate cable instead of what is attached. Pretty fast when it works. The downside is that it randomly disappears for the system and I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it working again.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Didn't work at all

Didn't work at all as others have said. I thought they didn't get it, but they were actually right. It just didn't work. The box actually looked like it had been previously opened and given a second seal. I come back.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Upgradable

Works well, heats up

Acceptable product. to dent laminated tables after prolonged use, a small active fan would solve this and I would prefer noise

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

We run a video production company and are in the process of updating our server. With 6 editing machines (a combination of MBP and iMac Pro) needing access to 300TB of 6K-8K raw footage from our server, we needed a combination of adapters and cables that would provide the highest speed and throughput. We've been let down by other adapters that overheated or just didn't reach the advertised speeds. I bought several test solutions on our network and this 10G adapter turned out to be the winner…

Non-PXE boot NIC works

I have to tag this adapter because there is no claim on their website or Amazon page for this device not supporting PXE boot (FYI, their Documentation is also not supported). For those unfamiliar with the term, PXE is short for Preboot Execution Environment. This allows you to boot into the NIC before the operating system loads and you can install the operating system from the NIC. I contacted CalDigit about PXE support and they replied that they don't support it and that they have no plans to…

Good Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter.

A good lightning rod. Strong as a tank. The 10Gbe chassis looks thin and tiny in comparison. Data transfer is fast as there is an aquantia aqc107 ethernet adapter inside. So it works with macOS, Linux and Windows. Make sure TCP/IP 6 is disabled in Windows 10 for the aquantia ethernet connection because for some reason the windows aquantia driver is not compatible with tcp/ipv6 and the internet is slow unless you disable it. It's important to note that this case uses the JHL6340. A controller…

Working non-PXE NIC

I have to flag this adapter because there is no statement on their website or Amazon page that this device does not support PXE boot (FYI their docking stations are too unsupported). ). Stops working after heating

TLDR: Didn't work for me but I could probably recommend it provided the problems I was having were related to me. Works on MacBook Pro 2020 with Big Sur. Does not require configuration, achieves the promised speed of 10 Gb / s. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks, but then he started behaving. It heats up, which I expected, but now when it heats up it disconnects every few minutes or suddenly stops loving the port it was plugged into and I have to switch it. It stopped working twice but…
