Great Gauge

For the price and great shipping this really can't be beat. The device is quite heavy and will last for many years with proper care. I was tired of using a small dipstick and wanted something more accurate. Now I'm in charge of 10 tires (2 cars and a bike) and haven't lost much speed (compared to a dime) but gained a lot of accuracy in the process.

Easy to read and accurate

This is a decent tread depth gauge for those who want a reasonably priced gauge. Easy to read and accurate. Two scales, both millimeters (mm) and 32 inches. Four stars because there are higher quality tread depth sensors that cost about twice as much as this sensor. This sensor is far superior to the cheap "sensors" of the competitor Milton.

quality control? We don't need smelly quality control!

Absolute. Positive. Useless. The principle of operation of such a sensor: when the piston is flush with the bottom of the plate, the depth should read zero. This shows approximately *minus* 2/32 (see photo). So. If you use this on a tire with an actual tread depth of 5/32, that piece of junk reads 3/32. I can see the depth closer!
