Overall well made cage and great price. However, the manufacturer made a small mistake during assembly. The threaded pins for attaching the threaded bolts of the base plate (see fig.) were overlooked. This caused play between the base plate and the rest of the system. I returned the product but liked the Camvate setup so much that I bought a slightly different model with a different baseplate mounting design. Very happy with it. I use it with T7i.

Excellent quality cage for Canon 70D! No regret!

Amazing product. Feels great and solid. The rails are internally threaded so you can add. The grip is great and holds up well. There are threads all over the place, and this one has a cute block of cheese. There are two threaded side strips; one for shorter cameras and one for taller cameras. I use mine with a Canon 70d. I have access to my entire camera. Batteries, HDMI/AV/MIC I/O, buttons and screen can still shake normally. It came with a cold shoe so I bought 2 more for lighting and…

Built like a tank and incredible value for money.

This cage is an incredible value. Each component is built like a tank and incredibly strong once assembled. The entire cage has been packed with each piece in its own bubble bag to ensure nothing can be damaged in transit. There are no instructions for assembling the cage, but using the photo from the Revain article it's pretty easy to figure out what goes where, although I didn't connect a few things correctly at first. The top handle is incredibly strong and massive. Once the chamber is…

Uncomfortable but durable

Overall this is a pretty decent cage/base configuration. I was a little worried that the top handle wouldn't support the weight of my rig, but it seems pretty solid. The cheese stick on the side is handy because it's far enough away that it can also be used as a handle. The other issue that bothered me was how far forward the base would be because I didn't want it interfering with my tracking focus, but (and it's not clear from the photos) the front and rear units aren't real appropriate. so…

Everything is perfect except for one thing that sucks like hell.

I would give 4.5 stars if I could. It's perfect, except the mounting plate/stem mounting part really bugs me. I don't mind that this thing pretty much lives on top of your camera once you screw it on (if you want a cage that you can slide your camera in and out of in less than 30 seconds you're going to have to spend a lot more money), bugs, I wish there was at least some sort of quick release on the stem mount. At work this can be done either with or without the poles as the gaps are secured…
