Excellent Drain Pump Pump

I have used many pumps over the years as I have a basement that needs protection. Smooth, quiet operation, except for the attached click float switch (like most switches of this type). I use external switches that are quieter and work in my available space. You can hardly do it here. Time will tell how it will be in the long run, I'll check again.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Damaged

Very good pump, easy to install

Great little drain pump. Have used it twice in two different homes and it works with no problems. The only criticism is that no PVC pipe adapter is included. Many other pumps include this and it would save you a trip to the hardware store. Especially after buying from Revain, going to the hardware store is counterproductive.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I have no complaints about it, everything is fine

So far, so good. UPDATE: Burnt Out

Installed this Wayne after the untimely death of my last Zoeller. It has been running quietly and efficiently for three months now. UPDATE: Literally burned out after 10 months. Firefighters removed the melted, smoking, defective pump and assumed the switch was stuck in the "on" position. Waiting for a response from customer support. They will only replace and I'm afraid of what the replacement can do.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Exorbitant Price

Don't spin those nuts!

This pump is quiet and pumps a lot of water. It seems well made and I expect it to last a few years but I only have one season. Here's an important tip: DO NOT try to separate the pump from the base. I was trying to screw an existing piece of PVC into a socket with a 45 degree bend. The tube was coming into the pump with every turn, so I thought: unscrew those three nuts! I found out the hard way that the entire canister is filled with oil that spills out the bottom when those nuts are…

So far, so good! There was a 2 year old special cheap plastic contractor.

So far, so good! I had a 2 year old cheap custom contractor plastic block that came with my house and it worked 3 cycles, didn't work for a couple, worked 3. It's in a house surrounded by wetlands so this baby is pumping in the Spring about every 45 seconds. Luckily I had a backup watchdog otherwise I would have had a flooded basement. The first thing that struck me is that this block is VERY well put together. Good cast iron base and much heavier than the block I replaced. Assembly is NOT…

Pros
  • Durable finish

  • Unreliable

Great, quiet, well made sump pump. Super impressed.

Bought a house 20 years ago and the sump pump in the basement was old and noisy and the float switch was broken. This Wayne pump worked fine so I ordered it with a check valve. Mind you, I've never had a house with a basement, and I've never touched a drain pump in my life. I cut the PVC leading to the old pump and removed it. I screwed in the check valve, pressed the PVC against it, then connected the PVC pipes with a rubber coupling for easy removal if/if the thing dies. Took me ten minutes…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Update available

This is my third pump. All others have failed (various brands) with very limited usage. nobody should ever have a basement). This thing just survived Hurricane Harvey and pumped water non-stop for 5 days with about 50 inches of rain (I don't know how they measure it, looks like there's a lot more on the ground)! And he cleaned the entire area where even moderate rains flood this basement. We're talking about 3-5 feet of water continuously for 5 days. It wasn't quick enough to drain the water…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Frequency

Me and my friend love it but.

It's a bit noisy but I'm sure it's because my bed and bed frame are on the floor and the pump is right below me. My friend installed it for me. He said it was very easy, he was very impressed with the pomp. I spent the extra money hoping it would be quiet because my pump is in my basement right under my bed. So I can hear very well. All other pumps I've bought have been incredibly loud. This will wake my son from his sleep. I couldn't allow that. He said it was the quietest pump ever. So of…
