I really like this product. Product Mid-Tech Survival.

Love it! I like the support of the manufacturers' products. refreshing. This product works exceptionally well. Period. Runs without hesitation. The device is battery operated, which means that it will continue to work in the event of a power outage. There is also a 120 volt alarm in the cab and a backup battery. We have a few of these and the dogs respond correctly to detecting alerts based on the number of horns they have. If the network fails, no problem. An important positive note in support

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Very good system unless you live in a humid or cold climate

I have tried several driveway surveillance systems and this has the best range so far. The base station is about 200 meters from the sensor and the reception is very good. Most other systems, despite their claims, were unable to communicate over that distance. The problem with this system is that "weatherproof" sensor units are anything but weatherproof. Even after RTVs are sealed, they still give off moisture that destroys the battery contacts after a few rainy or winter months. Just today I…

Ruined! 2 vagrants caught in the act

My back wall was pretty low so I bought a couple of these leaning against the back wall a few months ago. I didn't want them to turn on and off all day so I set a timer on the receiver to turn on from 10pm to 5am. I used a Smart Things hub and a cable that I can control, but any timer will do. A cat would pass by you from time to time, but not too often to annoy me. I set up cameras so I could check what the traffic was like when I was warned. In August at 5:30 the sensors went off. goes away…

Bad choice Best motion detector

I bought two base stations (each with a motion sensor). I also bought two extra extra motion sensors. I programmed each base station with (4) motion sensors. So if sensors 1-4 are detected, the base station should beep 1, 2, 3, and 4 times as each sensor is triggered. I have a sensor at 400ft, 200ft, 100ft and then on my back deck at 30ft. These devices work fine as long as you are within 10 feet of the sensor. After that comes the shitty shooting. The sensor on my deck is line of sight from…

Reliable and durable. Highly recommended!

4+ years and still valid. We use this as a driveway alarm to alert us when a person or vehicle enters a property. The sensor is located about 600 feet from two paired receivers in different parts of our home. One of the receivers is actually in the basement and still picks up the sensor signal perfectly. The sensor has never had a "false alarm", but deer and other animals regularly pass in front of the sensor and are triggered. Also, the spider decides to settle in a hole right in front of the…

Disappointing: Security and surveillance

I found that this product (and I suppose any product using the same technology) ended up not working. By "working" I mean reliably detecting moving objects that are in range and in focus without false alarms. I've watched cars drive past my sensors while they were less than 10 feet away and the device made no sound. Sometimes I could walk into the detection area and it wouldn't sound. That's the good part. The bad part is that my two of the three sensors I bought stopped working and started…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Functionality

Long and short: Mount it a foot off the ground and line it up with the exhaust pipes and it works almost 100% of the time, regardless of temperature or weather. Chamberlain's printed instructions require you to install this sensor four feet off the ground to point at the hood of vehicles. However, when following Chamberlain's directions, our detection rates were around 50% to 60% while skipping lower cars. On rainy or cold days, the detection rate for each vehicle was close to 0%. We wanted to…

Although I just installed this device today, I just wanted to write a quick overview of some things that I've learned or that I think might be useful to others who own or have this device consider buying it. I am very impressed with this device. I will update my review after spending some time with the device. As for my setup. I installed this device on a remote 40 acre site covered by dense forest. The air temperature here is currently -33 F. My driveway is 1300 feet long. I have a PIR sensor…

BUYER ATTENTION suitable for security and surveillance systems

January 14, 2017 I purchased this alarm system (base station and one (1) sensor) plus three (3) additional sensors as I need four (4 ) sensors to cover my property. This was intended to replace a similar Chamberlain system I had installed a few years ago that no longer worked. I programmed all four (4) new sensors (the company calls them "training sensors") onto the new base unit in exactly the same way, following the company's instructions. Three (3) of the four (4) sensors were functional…

Good product, worked well for me at 100 yards

I had some concerns after reading some of the reviews but decided to go with this anyway Purchase. . I'm glad I did this, it works fine. For others, here are some of my notes. The reviews talking about Heat and Partial Detection are correct, placement and aiming are really important. I installed them at the end of an east-west access road in an open field, so traffic and sun were factors. I placed two devices, one on opposite sides of the lane, facing the lane at about a 45 degree angle from…

Pros
