Took me more than 300 feet. It was the only option that didn't break the bank. Not the best quality but if you don't treat it as indestructible it will last a long time. In the rain, I purposefully searched my wooded property. Used a few times in the rain. It dries well, the numbers don't get smudged. I was expecting it to be used once, but I'm happy to use it again and again.

If you really want to check if the practice soccer field is square, you need a tape measure long enough to measure the diagonal: 120 m for a field with an end zone or 65 m for one without an end zone . This strap is the only one I have ever found that is long enough but fragile. I'm only using this tape to take one important measurement. Then I tidy it up and use the stronger, easily accessible 300ft tapes for the rest of the work.

I almost didn't buy it because it only had two reviews and one was bad. Yesterday I used it to survey a 20m x 60m riding arena, winding it up and down repeatedly to measure the length and width, level the arena and make marks on all sides. It works well, wraps and unwraps smoothly, and stays on task. It might be a little small for serious construction work, but it's perfect for my purposes.

Used for the second time, tape pulled for accuracy; not difficult at all, but broken?! When it broke between the end and the 1 foot mark, "0" switched to "1 foot" and continued. Next time the tape is torn again!?! This time between the 12 and 13 foot mark. Unfortunately, I was so pissed that I threw a gym trash can at it and drove home before even considering a refund. I recommend NOT buying THIS tape measure unless you plan to use a "soft touch".

As a track official I need a tape measure that is easy to read, easy to roll, durable and strong so it can be used countless times at every race. It definitely fills the bill. I had the exact same model for years before it finally had to be replaced. Not bad for $11.97, right?! It is measured in feet (marked RED) on one side and in meters (marked BLACK) on the back. I have used other faucets (owned by other officials) and this one is by far the easiest to use! I highly recommend it.

The chrome steel ring at the end of the tape broke off the fiberglass tape during normal use to measure my property. I didn't pull hard. The strap was obviously manufactured incorrectly, with less than 1/8 inch fiberglass on the end loop holding the chrome steel ring. Instead of sending it back I used Gorilla Glue to fix the tape adding 1/8th. 2" x 8" nylon strap (see photo) to properly support the chrome steel ring. This is one of the very few 400ft roller tapes and that's the only reason I bought it. I use roller tape to mark soccer fields and I have about 10 different models. This is by far the worst. The tape stretches a lot with light tension or light wind. The crank came loose the first time I used it and the screw got lost. The end of the strap also snapped on first use so it's junk now.
