Ideal for pouring individual soap molds!

This set is perfect for making custom soap molds! It really captures every little detail of the item you throw! I work on commission for a soap company and this really helped! The instructions are easy to follow and the curing time is comparatively quick compared to other brands.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Very easy to use. best for molding and casting

I needed a whole pound of silicone for my mold so I just mixed it up in a large container. Pour in the activator, shake vigorously, then pour out. Very easy. I slowly poured it into the mold from a height of about 2 feet and then tapped the sides. I don't see any air bubbles in the finished product and it comes out easily.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

The best product for easy reproduction of details.

Incredibly detailed molds can be made from this product! Also, the final product reproduces the details better than I expected. I measured wrong but still managed to correct the proportions and make the perfect shape. I made sure to punch the hell out of my frame to ensure all nooks and crannies were filled and any air bubbles released. I will use this product again.

Candle and Soap Molds

I have used this product several times to make candle molds. It's easy to use and good to set up but this size won't get you very far, I usually have to use two batches to make a small to medium candle. There is no sum between this size and an expensive big bucket. I have made some beautiful shapes with this product. I've had pretty good luck with that as well, resulting in having to add a new batch on top of the old one. No problem with sticking.

There are different mix ratios by weight or by volume

Just make a note of the mix ratios, I did it by volume which took a long time with the spoon provided. Next time I'll use a kitchen scale and mix by weight. I used this kit to make an intake port for a Honda cylinder head. I also used silicone spray lube as mold lube before casting. I let it dry for 2 or 3 days before attempting to remove it, this material is STRONG, I separated the rubber from the metal as best I could and then just grabbed a large well and pulled until the shape came out.…

Installed too quickly

I see all these reviews about how great this product is but I just don't see it that way. I have used two other mold filling products, both were cheaper and both mixable 1 to 1 and both products mixed well. When I mixed the two products, the gum was already hardening. I've only made two molds out of this stuff, and only a simple one worked. To be honest I have no idea why I bought this product in the first place. That day I was in some kind of room. I have since reordered another product that…

RTV works as advertised

RTV rubber works as expected. Captures small details. Very durable. Definitely sticks to itself - I had to cut off part of the bottom of the mold and glue to the top to make it easier to use - the parting line didn't work as expected. I cut off what I wanted and used it to glue it on top. Be careful as this can work against you when creating a two-part form. Be sure to use a rubber spacer. Otherwise it will stick together and bury your master in rubber. I had to start over for a two-component…

Wonderful! One of the best materials for crafts at home!

A truly excellent product for capturing fine details! Note that this is not suitable for hard clays like Sculpey etc as the over flex can cause distortion if you try to pack in a hard material. However, it works great with liquid clay as you can bake directly into the mold. If you are using soft, air-dried clay please remember that you will need to add extra drying days as the evaporating surfaces are the only ones left directly exposed to the air. Measuring materials incorrectly will give you…

The pot life is NOT 40 minutes. More like 5 minutes max.

I love making cube shapes. The very first one I've ever made was with Alumilite Amazing Mold Rubber and it was awesome. Of course I had high hopes for this product from them. I was terribly disappointed. I figured this would be the best shape as it needed to be a bit softer and more flexible. The end result was actually softer and more flexible. However, the first batch I mixed didn't even make it into the molding box. I followed the instructions in the letter and then placed the mixed gum in…
