Perfect. for hauling food and winches

Difficult to install. The product is perfect and they make it as easy as possible as they don't expect you to be a mechanic with a lift and all the tools. But jeez if you can find a way to raise the rear end to give you some working room. I did it myself on the bottom of a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback, which means you have to unhook the exhaust. All went well, their bolt arrestor cords worked great, but be prepared for a bit of work.

Love it but it didn't fit my 2018 Mazda 3 sedan

Despite all the fitment guides online including Kurt's own website, the hitch 11577 wasn't wide enough for my 2018 Mazda. 3 pre-drilled holes sedan. After reading similar complaints about other products I decided to just leave it and widen the holes on the Mazda to fit since the holes were narrow (less than an inch on each side). Also, it's a relatively easy setup and I've never done it before. I recommend watching a YouTube video or two; It wasn't entirely clear to me how to use the fishing…

It's pretty good for the price

It's pretty good for the price although the anti-sweat and anti-corrosion coating could be oil. Mine was slightly scratched on the sharp edge, I used some POR 15 to touch up the areas exposed to the metal. It is made of steel and will rust badly, if rust can develop due to chips or scratches use POR. 15 to touch damaged areas every few mouths. I wanted to install it myself following the installation instructions from the Mazda forum. But the muffler rubber bands were too painful without a…

Firmly. Easy to fit on 2016 Mazda 3 Sedan

Purchased to use with Swagman bike rack. The installation took about 1 hour total and someone helped me (I held the stand while they glued where the cutouts should be and again while they screwed the nuts onto the bolts). The best options are ramps for the rear of the car and a long-handled torque wrench. Otherwise, take your time installing it and it's easy. I used an electric saw to cut 2 slots in the bezel. But as I cleaned up the cuts with a razor and file, I realized that I could only do a

Installing a 2015 Mazda Hatchback

On my 2015 Mazda 3 Hatchback, I noticed that the mounting holes are slightly different than those shown in the installation videos. The smaller front hole was capped on both sides while the rear ones were larger holes. You don't need a second person, but it can't hurt. Just install the bolts and wire plates and support the muffler as you lower it. Once the hitch is in place, the muffler brackets help hold it in place while you thread the cables through the mounting holes. Push it into place and

Poor packaging which caused the flanges to be bent.

The product looks very solid; However, the clutch was sent to me without a box or foam packaging. The hitch itself was only wrapped with a metal zip tie for shipping information. During installation, three of the four screws fit; However, the last screw was 1/4" open. I called Kurt and they told me that this has happened before with couplers bent in transit and a quick fix is to use a 2x4 between the jack and your coupler and lifting it up the weight of your car to bend it so the holes line up…

Good hitch, easy installation, poor shipping

I know this has been said in other reviews but Curt/Revain needs to expedite shipping of these products. I bought two of these and they both came "bare" with just a piece of cardboard wrapped around the support bar and bubble wrap around the hitch receiver. I sent back the first one delivered by UPS because it was scratched in many places and the mounting material was missing. The second arrived in much better condition via Revain and USPS. However, during installation I had trouble aligning…

Great receiver, perfect match for my 2018 Mazda3 Hatchback

Although it was supposed to be delivered via UPS it actually arrived via USPS - much to my mail lady's displeasure. Although it had no box and just lay on the mail truck's corrugated aluminum floor, it had few scratches. I went to ACE and got a can of gloss black high temp grill paint, removed all the decals and gave it a good cleaning and then a good paint job. Like new! The relative lack of a missing original paint finish says a lot about the harshness of the factory paintwork. I took my time

Worked well for a first time unaided installer - there are hints.

Mazda 3 SGT Hatchback 2014 Release. I haven't had any fit issues, not sure what happened to the other reviewer here, but I haven't encountered any major issues. Well packaged, no damage, all hardware came in an overly careful thick ball of tape attached to the hitch. There seems to be enough room for the exhaust pipe, but it's a bit close to the bumper. No rattles or anything else to report. Some things to look out for as a beginner: The Lisle 38350 exhaust pliers mentioned in another review is

Easy installation and perfect fit.

Mazda 3 2014 5-Door 6-Speed I just installed it myself in my driveway in exactly 1 hour. I'm not a mechanic, but an enthusiastic DIY enthusiast. I don't see any problems with the gap in the exhaust pipe and twisted the muffler as hard as I could without hitting anything. Maybe another reviewer used the wrong holes (?). A pulling tool can be handy, but it's definitely not essential. It only took me a few minutes for each of the channels. Use pliers to pry the rubber through the bulge on the…
