Zj owners warn about pans and drain plugs

If you have and are getting a ZJ, be careful what temperature sensor you buy. Because the temp sensor is on the driver's side, if your jeep is flexed and the passenger side is slammed full, the driveshaft can touch the temp sensor.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • weak

It works great on the freeway, but doesn't help much in the city.

Works very well with large transmission cooler with fan, transmission temp stays between 100* and 120*, sometimes lower at highway speeds. In traffic jams, it accelerates to 180 *, but I did not see it again.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Concise manual

dents in the pan. The box was fine

There are 2 dents on the bottom of the pot. The box it came in is perfect so I don't know how it could have 2 dents if it wasn't factory made and they shipped it anyway. Not installed yet but will update review once I'm done

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled

Worth every penny. fits pans and drain plugs

I fitted this to my Dodge along with the transmission cooler and wow what a temperature difference. after a long hard stop on a 9% incline for 10 miles. Stopping normally and driving through the city at 100 degrees all day, I only get 145.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Needs a socket

I love the frying pan! at Transmissions & Parts

I was told they were phasing out etc. I put a lot of money into the box and this pot rounded out the whole package very well. Its simple design, with a small handle to hold things out of the tubes, was a welcome thought. This design is fine for street use but probably not suited for dirt or off-road use. I haven't had any problems or leaks from this pan, I would use a different one without hesitation!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Disappear

Great for the price

Don't buy the part to lower the filter it's too much and the filter will hit the bottom of the pan. I didn't use it for this reason. Also, you will need to add 2 washers to each pan screw (or buy shorter screws). I wish they had something to say about that. If you have a V8 in your truck, cold air won't blow through the holes in the bottom of the oil pan because the exhaust will be in the way. Otherwise the price is unbeatable. (too bad they didn't have cooling tubes)

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Satisfied so far: Pans and drain plugs

Bought this for a 1/2 ton Dodge Ram with 46RE and 360 Magnum transmission because I only tow this truck, including 5000 lb fifth wheel. I've heard these transmissions have some issues and I sometimes ask this truck to pull a lot, so I figured the extra fluid and cooling capacity wouldn't hurt. I noticed that the exhaust Y-pipe is right in front of the cooling tubes, so I'll wrap some exhaust tape around it soon. The filter extension worked for me without any problems. The oil pan gasket leaked…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not automatic

Great that there is a drain plug.

Transmission coolant pan is a perfect match for my Dodge truck. Loved the filter that came with it. It had a place to install a transmission temp sensor, which I didn't do this time, but will next time I change my transmission fluid. With the drain plug you can easily empty the cooling pan the next time you change the liquid. I want to test the cooling effect more as I had another issue with the transmission oil coolant line rubber hose which ruptured and started blowing out fluid and the TEMP…

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Available in white only

Marriage from the factory

I ordered this for my Dodge 3500 06 with 48re. I like the design of the pan, but the workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. I currently have two main issues with the palette. The first is a cheap gasket that came with a pallet. It was a felt pad that fell apart within minutes of installation after exposure to ATF4+, which I used to factory specs. It went terribly. The second issue I had the biggest issue with was the build quality. It was below average at best. There the front of the tub on…

Pros
  • Annual trial period
