It's hard to believe that Dewalt missed two important elements that more thorough testing would have revealed: 1. There is no efficient way to operate a gun in cool mode. That means you turned it off and waited for the gun to cool down before putting it back in the plastic case. Even your most basic hair dryers have this option.2. It is not possible to display the temperature in degrees Celsius. This, of course, reflects a US bias, but it would cost next to nothing to implement with keystroke…
My product looked new but the heat shield was broken. Two other reviewers posted similar photos of their product, which also arrived broken. I really didn't want to mess with Revain and return the entire product for such a simple, inexpensive little part. I called DeWalt at 1-800-556-6696 and followed the warranty instructions. That part is called heat. label but the part number is N020498. I was able to get a replacement part for free.
I used this heat gun to shrink tubing down to very thin wires. I was able to concentrate the heat flow with the included nozzles so the plastic casing holding the wires didn't melt. did not deform the plastic case. It worked like a dream. I got the job done without damaging anything. The weapon is fairly light, making it easy to use. I used to use "Princess" models, which are much more expensive. This is a good alternative at a much lower price. It's bigger but gets the job done.
I bought this hearing aid as a replacement in addition to the two I already have from different manufacturers. However, I am a sous vide enthusiast and thought it would be nice to have a brand new meat frying gun as I've heard of the great success of other heat guns. I think we all know that paper burns at 451 degrees Fahrenheit. However, to my surprise, just for testing, I heated the gun to 1100 degrees and placed it on a paper towel. after a while it browns the paper but doesn't even light…

High marks for support and durability from testers
No, I'm talking about removing paint. And a heat gun is your best friend if you're into any kind of paint removal. The tools that come with this set aren't bad, but they aren't great. Hyde makes many different wire stripping tools and this is what you need. Don't waste your time, money or brain cells inhaling chemical strippers. This, along with a respirator, will make your life a lot easier. I bought this bad boy a few months ago and with the work I do this is the tool I use the most. The…
I wish I knew this tool existed years ago! I used to get so annoyed using small blowtorches to shrink and crimp ferrules. Every time you finally got that stupid thing, the wind would blow it away. Not with this amazing tool. I love it! I bought it to remove the screen from my Microsoft Surface to replace the SSD. The ability to change the heat settings was vital to getting the job done, as was the choice of attachments. Other heat guns only have 2 temperatures, but this thing is versatile. Next
I bought this primarily to make heat shrink tubing in the shop. It should be good for this app. A secondary use would be preheating plastic tubing for on-site insertion of barb fittings. While I don't have exact specs to base this on, I suspect from experience that DeWalt uses some sort of SCR technology to pulse the heater element to maintain the charge air temperature setpoint. This is fine for use in a conventional outlet, but I've tried it on a small portable generator (Honda 2000…
I broke my "thermo hair dryer" and finally upgraded to this from a basic hair dryer stolen from my wife and I am very glad I did have done. As with all DeWalt tools, you pay more and you can buy cheaper, but I'm definitely glad I didn't. From an operational point of view, this is relatively easy; Does the hot air blower generate hot air and blow it out at the front right? Best of all, selecting the heat level is quick and easy, with a nice display on the instrument and easy up and down buttons…
I think I paid about twenty dollars for the heat gun and kit. (Aug 2020). Anyway, I'm listing the price because I believe I paid about the same at my local store many years ago when I bought my first Dewalt hair dryer. (Food for thought). Now for the rating. Made in China (no wonder). It seems my last Dewalt pistol was made in Mexico. But in any case, if it lasts forever, then the question of where it's made remains a moot point. This new shotgun has digital temperature control, which I found…
I use hot air guns in my daily work. When I use them it turns on at full power and turns on for 4 seconds, then turns off for a minute, turns on again for 4 seconds, then turns off again for a minute, over and over again throughout the day . My friend has one and loves it. It is very convenient that you can see the temperature on the back of the device. It is adjustable in 50 degree increments. It's lightweight and works well. Even though I've only had it a month. Although there are a few…
