Not suitable for video calibration

Thought I could save a lot of money by buying these cheap smart cards. I spent a lot of time calibrating them. You can use them to compare light from setup to setup, but they are not useful for camera calibration. The chips are CMYK assemblies, not spot colors, so don't expect them to match RGB values at all. THESE ARE DEFINITELY NOT STUPID COLOURS! The gray tones are also a little patchy. In addition, a matte instead of glossy surface would have been much better. They packed them for UPS this…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good value for money

Low DPI. However, it's good value as you get two cards. The effect of the white balance setting is also very good. The attached images are from a digital camera, but I wanted to use them with film as I develop/scan my own film. Also comes with some information cards which are good if you are new to photography. So that's a plus. EDIT: The images were uploaded in reverse order. The warmer color is adjustable while the bluer/colder color is not adjustable. The warm tone is much closer to live.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Boring packaging

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SCAM!

absolute plagiarism. They are printed on a 4 color offset machine onto thin card stock. Postcards are better than that. It's overpriced and the "stand" you get with it is nothing more than a cheap 5x7 folio made of black construction paper. The salesman pecks and changes, "Stand", he shows a white with a square neckline, I have a black with an oval neckline. These are cheap tomes for 5x7 prints, nothing more. The print is fine, but you can see a reddish color shift of 3/4 tone. What amazes me…

Does what I need

Shooting miniatures and action figures in a tabletop studio can cause color shifts as colors reflect off the background or even the subject being photographed. This card provides me with white balance and color check. I can't say anything about the absolute accuracy, but optically it corresponds to the declared values. Once I load the images into Photoshop I use the values to ensure the color is consistent. (You can find hundreds of tutorials on this online.) It's quick, easy, and produces…

Could be better

For this price you can't expect professional quality but there are better options. That's more than other similarly priced color charts, and you get two of them. But the card is fragile and the surface is glossy, so you need to watch out for glare. Some colors show a print pattern. I found the chart capture was slightly blurry, if that's the problem. The protective paper folder is not as good as in the photo. Attempting to bend the lid to protect the color card as shown in the product image…

Pros
  • Color calibration charts
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models
